Waveshredders Are, Clearly, GNOME Tech!

I can’t be the only one to notice how these mounts don’t look like any sort of Goblin Tech AT ALL! They’re clean, smooth, symmetrical, properly painted, and DON’T look like they’re about to rattle themselves apart. Goblins already dominate the latest R.A.F. reward batch AND are the focus for the next big patch. Why do they need credit for these stolen mounts on top of everything else? Somebody tell me there’s some official dialogue that exposes the Gnomish misappropriation somewhere in-game, please!?

Also, I’m pretty sure that all of the Clockwork gear and pets from January 2025’s Trading Post inventory is of Gnomish inspiration too. It’s definitely giving me some Deeprun Tram vibes. Anyone feel what I’m sayin’ here?

Clocks and gears are usually Gnomish, rockets and bombs are usually Goblin, but they’re not mutually exclusive.

And both can backfire lol.

Not with that gratuitous exhaust they’re not.

Come on, Gratuitous? Look at your standard Mechaostrider and say that again.

Guh. Those are >clearly< completely necessary for the efficient operation of the mechanostrider.

I like how it already has two giant turbines, but that’s not fast enough, let’s strap an extra jet thruster on the bottom.

Overkill is the goblin way.

And who’s to say that isn’t the same case for these contraptions? Let’s face it it, only the Mecha-Gnomes and Draenei can build machinery with non-visible emissions.

Too be fair, most Goblin tech looks like something a Gnome thought up first, then the Gobs made a “less safe” version.

“Hey, I can make one of those, faster and cheaper. Who needs any ‘safety devices’ Pffft.”

Shredders are goblin tech.

True, but the two vehicles are nothing alike. Honestly, the original tred-supported shredders are the only Goblin vehicle that doesn’t appear to be ripped of of somebody else’s invention. That doesn’t mean that they weren’t, it just means that we haven’t met that race/species yet.

I thought it was a joint invention by that married Gnome and Goblin couple. We saw them in BFA…

There’s another shredder type for a spidertank, makes it understandable how waveshredders are goblin technology. :wrench::robot:

edit: Actually what I say doesn’t prove anything… :robot::sweat_drops:

In any case, Gnomes look better on them.

Just because the word “shredder” is part of the title DOES NOT mean it was invented by Goblinkind. The Crimson Shreddertank is just a Mechagnomish Mechaspider or Mechanocrawler with Goblinish bodywork thrown over the frame. None of their tech, just a their aesthetics.

There’s several quests in Vanilla where you steal blueprints and stuff from Gnomes so Goblins can look and plagiarize from them, lol.

A Gnomeregan quest, Shimmering Flats with the racing teams, and Stonetalon Mountains with the Venture Co. and that Leper Gnome up on the waterwheel. And I think there’s also a quest in Ratchet.

I wouldn’t be too surprised if it was originally a Gnomish thing that Goblins stole and finessed into their own invention.

Given how prevalent spider tanks have been over the years, I’m happy we’re seeing a Goblin variant.

Waveshredders are cheesy.

Gnomes are cheesy.

This checks out.

Did the waveshredder explode and was it supposed to explode are the 2 main determining factors as to whether something is Gnomeish or Goblin in origin.

Yeah… that did sound dumb of me. My bad. :robot::sweat_drops:

It does remove the clockwork engine design and has a goblin shredder face, I think it could pass as their variant since goblins also use spider tanks. :wrench::robot:

It is kinda funny goblins have created their giant gorilla too, reminds me what the gnomes did to Grong. :robot::test_tube:

edit: Hopefully it’s from the same device considering it was Grong’s credit in making it. :wrench::robot:

Grong says: I know what you must be thinking. Why would any otherwise intelligent beast choose this path for himself?
Grong says: When I heard the gnomes were planning a move against the Horde, I knew I needed to lend my aid.
Grong says: Their device was rudimentary at first, barely able to double the target’s size.
Grong says: With my help, the embiggifier now converts intelligence into brute strength.
Grong says: Being the smartest of my kind, it made sense to be the volunteer.
Grong says: It is not without risk, however.
Grong says: The likelihood that my sharp wit will lose its edge is high.
Grong says: But as long as I keep this handsome face, should I really care?
Grong says: I use humor to mask my anxiety.
Grong says: Between friends, I am a little nervous.
Grong says: Mostly I worry I won’t be good enough.
Grong says: I want to exceed everyone’s expectations.
Grong says: But we’re in this together, , right? You won’t let me fail.
Grong says: I want to become so colossal that the Horde trembles in fear at the sight of me!
Grong says: Whatever the cost, it will be worth it to see the Horde pay for what they have done.
Grong says: I know the risks, And I accept them.
Grong says: I am ready to become a weapon of the Alliance.
