You are not being ripped off, scammed, bait and switch, etc
If you unlocked the strider you get a water walking mount equipment mailed to you.
Equip that on your strider and you are back exactly where you were before, which is with a water strider that can water walk.

Please don’t tell me that this is my choice. We’ve been nothing but lectured by Strider Loathers how using a potion of water walking is not an option at all.
It has all to do with playstyle. It is the above playstyle that brought us here.
Props to Blizz for making an attempt at lore-tweaking however. It isn’t sufficient, but I hope that they will improve over time at it. I encourage them to do so and appreciate the effort made.

No rep, no strider, nowhere near enough gold to bother with the crafted, no crafting either just farming herbs and ore to sell occasionally.
Whats amusing to me is that every xpac there is some kind of major system change. You have had an OP mount for like 7 years now, and because you farmed rep for a couple weeks you should be immune to changes? I worked weeks/months to down bosses back in the day to get set bonuses etc.- am I supposed to argue with blizzard now that I worked hard for that cool set bonus back in Wotlk and Im supposed to be able to keep it? Get over yourself.

Blizzard cant even make it so we can buy the equipment and send it to lowbies without being a pain in the hozenrump.
Yes, that gear should still be able to be used in the content it was meant for, like when that timewalking comes up. And whether you worked for it or not it should be available to everyone to purchase in that expac major city, along with all the mounts pets, toys, pvp mounts and titles. Everyone needs to be treated equally. If one person has it everyone should. Fair is fair after all.
