I don’t believe every mount should have those things. I believe that special mounts should retain what makes them special.
Examples:
If it is a rare raid mount, the fact that it is difficult to get makes it special. I would not like that changed even though I haven’t gotten it yet.
If it is a reputation mount (like the strider) then it should retain what makes it special
If it is a high dollar mount (like the AH mount) then the price and it’s ability to be an AH should be retained
If it is a mount that needs to be built (like sky golem) then its farming ability should be retained
If it is a secret mount (like Hivemind), then the ability to seat 5 people should be retained
The worst thing that the developers of this game could do is to ruin the things that draw people to do content.
Especially because others who do not want to put in the effort to get them do not want them in the game.
Every player in this game has the ability to get the special mounts that I have mentioned in my posts. If they CHOOSE not to put in the effort to get them, then they have zero reason to call people who did earn them “entitled”.
My guess is that you are complaining about this whole thing because you did not take the time to earn and are salty that others have something you do not.
So…you don’t want them to make new expansions and make old raids relevant? I don’t get what you’re wanting here. Every mount is easy to get after the expansion’s over…its been like that since the game’s been out.
Blizzard disagrees and I agree with them. ONE mount shouldn’t have water strider while NO other mount does. If they want to make multiple different mounts that you can get multiple different ways that have ONLY water walking, I’d agree. But ONE mount out of 600 shouldn’t be able to retain special powers.
Which is what’s happening…
Which is what’s happening.
It’s ONLY the 5 people who you got it with, so It’s not overpowered. If it was 5 rando’s I think it should be nerfed or more mounts need to be made that have 5 seats.
Players shouldn’t be forced to do a stupid grind that nobody wants to do just because there’s only ONE mount that has water walking from old content. Make multiple water walking mounts and I’d be fine with it. Maybe mounts you can get from drops, dungeons, etc.
This isn’t true at all. It is very simple and doesn’t take much time at all to switch the people around. This mount would be extremely overpowering in warmode and I am sure that there will become a time when people will complain about it because a raid of PVP players sneaked up on them hiding in Hivemind mounts.
Every mount is not “easy” to get. People have been farming mounts for years and still haven’t gotten them.
I’m fully aware of the tons of players who go once every 3 months to a raid and when they don’t get it say “Omfg i’ve been farming this since the game came out”
This is NOT the player’s fault! In the 5500+ comment strider thread, that bliz is conveniently keeping locked (damage control at their finest) MANY people have said they should have introduced other mounts with that ability. Including myself.
Whatever the actual problem is with the strider, if there even is one, the fault for it lands squarely on blizzard’s shoulders.
They created this.
They regret it.
They try to take it away.
THEY are the ones who SHOULD try to get their objective accomplished in the friendliest way possible, without the sneaky attempts to “give and take away”, without peeing on our legs and telling us it’s only raining.
They are also becoming very predictable, obstinate, and seemingly numb to the pleas of their bread and butter…the players.
They are going to face the consequences of yet more players unwilling to stick with their game, as a result.
