I happen to LOVE flying & I fight for flying all the time.
I ALSO love my water bug! I want to keep both. Don’t lump all the water bug haters in with the flyers. I think most of the people that hate the new mount change would fight for the right to flight, too. I think you are hoping the wrong people get hurt.
I don’t want anyone to get hurt. The best solution is what others have already said in another thread: Give us new unique water walking mounts!
I’m pretty sure Moused’s comments are aimed at those who originally complained about the water striders being “too OP” and “absolutely vital for every step everyone took”.

This does seem to be the case. Of course, it could be that they assume that the veterans will just keep playing no matter what, and they can advertise fancy new mount equipment that lets your mount walk on water to the new customers they are chasing.
Complaining gives the company a very important gift. The gift of how to keep their customers. Now whether the company accepts that gift is another thing.
With this company’s track record, it is going to take a lot more people cancelling their subs before they even acknowledge the gifts they have been receiving.
I agree. Adding more depth to the content instead of messing around with stuff like this will make more people play the game and play the game longer. However, I do not believe this particular development team has the ability to do that.

Sometimes we need to just hold hands and sing Kumbaya anyway, because i can’t think of anything that would piss the resident trolls off more than being stuck at a campfire surrounded by happy people singing Kumbaya at them.

Anything to cause more spending on tokens as a short term fix for the financial losses caused by the bleeding of subs cause by past idiotic decisions.

They were to cause people to congregate together, to cover up the emptiness caused by bleeding subs.
It was your anti-flying statements that made me bristle and react, gotta admit. Don’t mess with my flying, man. Blizzard is already doing everything they can to take it away as it is.
That said, I’ll gladly give up water walking to have flying on any mount at any time for any character above level 60. Give me an item for that that I can pop onto my characters’ mounts at max level and use near the start of the expansion and we’re good, Blizz. 
I’m thinking they’re trying to come up with a way to future-proof future expansion traveling perks. We got expansion specific perks in Legion, and now in BfA.
Using a system that is UI based could solve that, if they don’t pull the idiot move of having it also be expansion specific.
But the waterstrider shouldn’t be included in that plan.
I think Blizz having this mindset is a bad thing.
Limiting things like this kills immersion.
I feel like each expansion tries to create it’s own bubble to live in rather than building upon the world.

I’ve been very vocally pro-flying, and anti the trick Blizzard calls pathfinder, ever since Blizzard decided on flight as their next target to attack.
It’s intended per character, it will slow us down one way or the other. Either being dazed and dismounted or swimming thru all water. Both ways it will take us longer to get stuff done. And for some unknown reason blizzard thinks more time played = More fun. they just don’t understand that some times we get frustrated and just log out because it’s not fun which = less time played and less fun.
No, they think more time played = looks better to investors. It’s not about OUR fun, it’s about their internal metrics.
True, but either way it just seems Blizzard does not care about us at all one way or the other as long as we play longer.
As I understand this, only the character who actually earned the Water Strider gets a free-bee but all my alts will have to individually go purchase a pair of these WW boots to use the water strider?
Make it so that its account bound for use, as opposed to available per character. I use the Water Strider only for traversing water where I need it, and since my alts use it as well, I cannot understand why my alts have to purchase a pair of WW boots to enable the water walking function for them on the strider.
I am not interested in any other mount using the boots because I ground out the fishing dailies in Pandaria in order to obtain the Water Strider for its capabilities which I have been able to use on all my characters once they reach riding level.
The other aspect that I think Bliz is over looking is there are some players who only have a limited amount of time to play. I know a few in my guild and a lot of times we help them accomplish things because the do not have the time to grind in order to obtain something. That is what our guild does…we help folks.
But when there is a road block placed on the player’s ability to accomplish something even with assistance from guild makes, there is nothing we can help with to get them past those individual blocks.
If water walking boots are BoE at the Angler so we could pick up a pair for a guild mate, that would be another story, but I suspect this is all BoP and no one can help with that. I have not seen were the water walking boots can be crafted, only the other two items…if I missed it, please point it out.
They are call Water Walking Potions craftable by alchemy.

The ones revealed so far can cause most of your mounts of level 20+ characters to be unable to be dazed, have waterwalking, have a parachute when flying from high places.
Saddlechute : Equip in your mount equipment slot to install a emergency parachute that will deploy when dismounted high in the air.
Inflatable Mount Shoes : Equip in your mount equipment slot to allow you to walk across water while mounted. Any damage will cancel the effect.
Comfortable Rider’s Barding : Equip in your mount equipment slot to prevent you from being dazed while mounted.
These items will be made by professions (e.g. Dazed from Blacksmithing) and can be replaced at any time. However, the item is destroyed when replaced.
Really? They are removing water walking mounts from the game?
Oh wait, they aren’t.
Your problem is your “super special mount” that you grinded out (that is from 3 expansions ago, remember) isn’t so special anymore.

Guess what, they do that every expansion. This one just took them a bit longer.
