Flying is exactly why this issue shouldn’t be nearly as serious. But it still should be fixed for low levels obviously. But even if it doesn’t, take a water walking potion if you somehow need to run on water for 10 minutes while leveling. They’re not expensive either.
That’s wasted time for literally no purpose. I would agree the nerf is not needed, however, coupled with the fact you can equip any mount you want with the free water walking boots permanently it’s not a big deal. It also helps people who pick their mounts based on characters as the water strider might not be something a certain race would normally ride. I think people are blowing this out of the water

They are taking abilities away, either not being able to be dazed or the ability to walk on water. Because right now i can use a barding and not be dazed and use my water strider mount and walk on water. With this change I can not do this, i will have to choose.

Only this forum would complain about allowing us to use our favorite mounts or any mount we wanted over water, instead of just an ugly bug.

Meanwhile I’m trying to convince the forums that it’s really a good thing but no matter what I do it won’t work.
It’s just annoying to have wasted time grinding it out for nothing. Blizzard once again is going to reward the lazy by handing out what others worked for.

I honestly wish they’d do this for the Sky Golem, even if it was expensive. I don’t like having to be on the same giant clunky mount all the time to maximize gathering efficiency.

Will it be account wide or do I have to equip per mount per toon?
Eh. I hate having to rotate between mounts. Feels clunky as hell.

How expensive? Enough to overcome the time to grind it out? Or some piddly 5-10k?
What, exactly, is being removed?
You can still water-walk, and now so can the rest of your mounts, you just have an extra hoop to jump through. A feature of the game was simply moved from one narrow backroad to a much wider avenue.

In today’s news, Waterstrider goes from a highly used mount to one that is never used.

Honestly, you are wasting your time. I even said beforehand that people who are unhappy currently with the game will be unhappy with 8.2.
It doesn’t surprise me that they find anything they can about 8.2 to latch on and complain about, acting like it’s the most horrible change ever when (if it is kept in the present state) will only affect characters from level 90-100.
I worked for that mount literally just last expac. I know how it feels. (Besides how it felt at level) it was pretty easy though and at most I spent like 10-15 mins out there doing dailies for a few weeks to hit exalted.

I guess I’m just going to give up then. The unhappy will remain unhappy. But I hope those who are angry will see the bright side of this and will be happy about it eventually.
I’m reserving judgment until I see it in action personally.
You are typing this literally a few hours after they announced they would be adding something that would allow you to walk on water with every mount.

I suppose it depends on the cost. If it’s something hard to get that would make getting it free worth while then I’m fine. But I’m sure it will be much easier to obtain these boots than it was to get the strider making it a pretty slimy thing to do
