Water Strider Discussion

sorry friend but just typing words onto a screen ISNT a refutation.
We are now PAYING (50gold PER character) for something we already EARNED prior to this absurd change…END of story.

… I’m asking for the fact, the fact that you somehow don’t seem to be able to understand that you need to substantiate statements you make is rather disappointing. this argument you’re making is a strawman and rather infantile, asking for evidence is not making an argument, it’s asking for evidence. The discussion and arguing comes after that. First you set your sources and provide your facts. I know this is really really complicated, but I have faith you’ll figure it out eventually.

no, you have to pay for water walking for your characters below level 100. I’ve already stated that I don’t support that particular decision, but the fact of the matter is that none of your max level characters have to pay for it, you’re not forced to pay for it for your lower level characters, and the only way you are paying as if you CHOOSE to do so for the convenience of water walking below level 100.

I don’t have to read about how it was before and how it is now you silly goober, I was living it prior to the change and I’m living at now. I have my water strider, I grinded my rep, I have my free water walking for my characters level 100+. I’d say just stop talking until you’ve acquired basic reasoning skills and figure out what is actually being argued instead of missing the mark entirely and spewing a bunch of nonsense.

Oh gosh, you said end of story therefore you’re completely right and the story is over. Thank goodness we have you as the ultimate arbiter of Truth to weed through all of the pesky facts and perspectives that are here in this discussion. You’re secretly one of the Blizzard dev team aren’t you? Go ahead and tell me some more about how what you think is fact even though you can’t substantiate it.

dude…sorry if its not OUR problem if YOU are in here ‘refuting’ reality when you clearly HAVENT READ the facts.
Like I said…stop talking until you KNOW what transpired…which I laid out VERY CLEARLY above.

uh…duh? didnt I just say that above…like three times or so?
BEFORE the change the strider had WWing INHERENTLY and like ALL mounts ALL of my characters could use its abilities.
I did the grind for THAT…not the strider as it is TODAY.
It was pretty much fraud to make US believe we were getting ONE thing, then bait and switch it to something else after the fact.

you can pretend you actually believe this isnt fraud, but we ALL know it is.
Taking what we EARNED and SELLING it back to us is FRAUD, plain and simple.

His argument is that they aren’t making us pay to get back water walking, they’re just “changing when it’s available for free.”

You can’t argue with someone willing to do those sorts of mental gymnastics to defend Daddy Blizz.

Thats right… I AM right.
I did the grind twice for a WWing strider that ALL of my characters could use at level 20 and above as it was designed.
After that, blizzard REMOVED the aspect of that mount from it and are SELLING it back to me at 50gold PER character on characters that could use it before the fraud occurred.
Im not naive. I KNOW you know the issue here…please stop pretending that you dont

Lol. Read my post history fan, defending Blizzard is nowhere in my form history. I do however take issue with a bunch of people who are trying to speak in absolute terms about something that’s not absolute.it seems I could learn a thing or two about mental gymnastics from a bunch of folks who think that being given the option to pay for something or wait it out is the same thing as forcing people to pay for something exclusively. I understand English is hard, maybe you should float over to whatever regional forum you belong to.

Yuliah, let’s think about that a moment: 50 Gold, and you have a 120. You can sneeze and make more than that in BFA. I understand the principle of the thing, but really - leave the cost out of the equation because it’s so trivial that it’s genuinely meaningless.

which is fraud when its done after we’ve put the agreed upon work.
Seems to me that with his illogic that we should be ok with being told a job pays $23 an hour, then on pay day we find out that the $23 only applies to the first 6 hours.
The other 34 hours is paid at $12 an hour.
Cant see how he’d be able to not be forced to defend that if he’s defending this nonsense.
I mean…they DID pay $23 an hour…they just ‘changed’ the rules after you put in the work.

No, you’re not naive. You’re just misrepresenting the facts as they are. from what I have gathered from our conversation you’re a couple years away from making it to high school, but when you do, I recommend you take a couple of debate courses so that you’ll understand the major discrepancy between what you’re arguing and what the actual debate at hand is.

I’ll mention it because its part of the point. I dont care if its ONE gold.

Apparently, so is the concept of “I had something, and now to get that thing back I need to pay for it again.”

You can make whatever excuses you like about “you don’t HAVE to pay,” but if I don’t pay, I don’t have water walking from level 20 to level 99…which is something I had prior to the change. The thing they’re giving me for free is a different thing: water walking from level 100 to cap.

Really?
then SHOW me .
I can wait.

  1. I did the grind for a stider that had WWing…FACT.
  2. Blizzard REMOVED WWing from that strider AFTER I did the work…FACT.
  3. Blizzard is now SELLING me WWing for 50Gold per character below 100…FACT.

Sorry…which facts have I misreprented?
or do you just like to say stuff to hear yourself talk?

I will argue based on principle to the death, and I respect other like-minded individuals. Unfortunately however, arguing based on principle also requires the facts being represented accurately. If you want to argue that blizzard took water walking away from you up until level 100, you can certainly do that. If you want to argue that there is a large incentive to purchase water walking before level 100, you can make that argument. If you want to argue that blizzard stripped away water walking and do you have zero other option than to purchase it in absolute terms, you cannot make that argument, because it’s not true.

Well, if you seriously think it’s going to be reversed I don’t know what to tell you other than…

lord…
so the fraud of bait and switch isnt actually fraud if its cheap.
I am so glad that lawmakers dont think like this.

Seeing players actually trying to defend this scam is the point.

Hold on, you don’t have to show the facts, but I do? ReAd tHe FaCtS bEfoRe YoU tRy To ArGuE aBoUt It. The cognitive dissonance here is palpable, I really wish I lived in a special little bubble where do as I say not as I do was a viable principle. I can tell I’m dealing with a very “special” individual.

I didn’t realize I could vocalize with my fingers and hear with my eyes. I don’t understand what you’re trying to say here, but it’s literally nonsense. Care to try again?

For me ‘fair and just’ is about PRINCIPLE and what is RIGHT. Not a $$$ amount.
I dont care if its a dollar or ten thousand. Fraud is fraud is fraud. It shows us a mans INTENT…what is in his HEART. THAT is where my concern is.

That this player is trying to defend what blizzard did doesnt really suprise me…it only disgusts me.
