Incorrect. Current requests in this thread ask for the striders to be left out just like the sky golem. It would therefore not benefit from equipment at all… just like the sky golem.
Also: the present water walking equipment in the PTR behaves entirely different from how the water strider behaves so not only is this a nerf to the water strider and our accounts, it’s an overall nerf to water walking in general.
You do know that you STILL have to grind out the MoP rep in order to initially purchase the water walking ability, right? Bornakk cleared up that misconception in the post quoted below.
You and every other newcomer will have to grind it out, just as we did. The exception is that we purchased the mount with the water walking ability as a baseline. You will have to purchase the mount and the water walking ability as separate items.
This change wasn’t done to benefit you. It was done because these inept Blizzard devs wanted to remove water walking back in 7.0, and couldn’t get away with it back then. They can in 8.2, and they have a fan club of players like yourself, cheering them on.
They need to make an entire blue post with every little detail of this stuff. Even reading that again it’s not clear if he is saying you can get the water walking shoes from other sources, like craftable or from somewhere other than the vendor.
I shouldn’t have to put effort into a part of the game that I don’t like to get an advantage in a part of the game that I do like
others shouldn’t get an advantage over me in a part of the game that I enjoy just because I won’t do a part of the game I don’t enjoy, what’s not getting through to you? You want water walking without having to do anything??? play a dk…
Just like how everyone argued that with the new portal room, “Literally nothing changes!” Yet, here we are with the new portal room, missing portals that we had, and now the People of Blizzard Religion say “You just can’t deal with change…”
Blizzard is dumb for changing old things like this.
Because water walking on the PTR has changed. Not only has the strider been nerfed account wide but the entire act of mount water walking has been nerfed and changed for the worse.
Everything changes.
I don’t want to waste my time for something that should be handed to me, yes
If you’re being condescending, you should put some time into heroic BoD, or maybe get a rating in pvp
I do. My thinking was along the lines of the actual cost of keeping everything “as it was” and that price is from 40g-1960g depending on your altholic level. Seems acceptable to me.
It’s not “more” choice for everybody to have to regain a semblance of their old water strider’s abilities.
If it was truly a ‘more choice’ situation by blizz for us the players then this would be a per account, per mount thing rather than a per character all mount thing.
They’re not adding choices, they’re creating a new ‘too powerful item’ so that they can later remove it or nerf it further. They tried to kill the strider before Legion. We resisted. They’re trying to kill it again a different way in the hopes that they can sneak it through.
It’s a mount, it’s universally (mostly) usable in every part of the game. Are you just trolling at this point or what.
I don’t think that other Mage should have that Mythic Weapon from Jaina because I don’t feel like raiding Mythic. So give it to me through world quests instead. Thanks Blizz! rolls eyes
I wasn’t, because I still had my strider… Because the entire glyph system was changing. Because it was only one class and they were screwing warlocks in other, larger ways.
By thine own hand, are ye cursed. You don’t want to grind the rep, and are pissed off that those of us who did grind the rep, get to utilise the rewards of having grinded that rep? You’re lazy. End of discussion.
You are aware that the items are one time use, and they’re only cheap if you farm the rep, right? 40-50g they said, if you currently have a bug.
So far as I’ve seen that might be permanent. You might never get them cheap in the future. How would you feel if you had to pay 3,000g a pop every time you wanted to change from Waterwalking to Slow Fall to Anti-daze? Would it anger you to learn that we got it for 40g a pop instead?
Untrue. As soon as I reached level 90 I could buy flying, the ability existed from the expansion’s beginning. Legion and BFA add the ability to start gaining flight at the .2 patch. Before then? Nothing you do can reach the skies.
