Water delves

The way the “water delves” work is super awkward and extremely unintuitive. As a Druid, I should be able to swim around in aquatic form, not just “walk on the ground” in aquatic form.

The water breathing fishing pole being equipped on the profession gear slot giving passive water breathing is a game changer.

yeah its a shame this isnt account wide, i had to grind out this pole during legion rep/dark moon fair and anniversary event on 4 of my characters but with all those rep buff stacked it took under a week to get the pole on all 4 of my toons.

I think it’s silly that they have this seemingly core mechanic for underwater delves, but there are so many ways around it.

It’s like people purposefully design annoying water content and then <SurprisedPikachuFace.jpg> when no one likes it.

It’s to separate those that get ready for it and those that don’t.

Using the potions nullifies any difficultly for the achievement of not dying to running out of breath. It’s almost like it wasn’t even thought of that people would just ignore the mechanic altogether.

I’m still surprised anyone is doing a water delve without underwater breathing at this point.

It’s a combination of the mobs being relatively tough, them having several abilities to disrupt the player and one disengaging to use Spearfish, you walking the wrong way or Brann sounding his Aquaman horn summons every sea creature in a 500 yard radius to converge right on you and maul you to death.

The Tricksters are easily the worst, as they hit hard, have a bleed and have basically Shadowmeld. Listen, I PvP pretty often and I have to deal with Shadowmeld and all the nonsense that follows on a daily basis. I really don’t need NPCs doing it as well.

The bosses are also usually steps up compared to the other biomes. The tentacle one is extremely annoying as while you’re trying to down them you have to move a lot, in addition to the boss plinking away at you with an interruptible spell.

And, of course, Brann screeching at you that you need air to live. You can remove that by prepping the proper potions but it’s just an extra step that you don’t need to do in any of the other delves.

They’re miserable and I just don’t like running them. At all.

My biggest complaint is that too many mobs float too high or can swim over my traps.

I can deal with everything else, but I’m used to using traps to separate mobs when doing solo stuff and it’s so frustrating. It made soloing on tier 11 painful.

Tricksters are the worst for me as a holy priest, because of the shadow they spawn but on my ret paladin they’re not an issue whatsoever.

However, mind controlling the necromancers is always a win.

If breathing was the only problem… is just a big sum of annoying mechs, unbalanced with other delves annoying things

On the flip side Warlocks and Forsaken are delighted.

Nogenfoger potion for water breathing and they become enjoyable

Onlything i dont like is Brann aggros everything

I thought this was some weird nonsense occuring to me since I’m using Elvui. A bit relieved to know that isn’t the case.

Chuckles in Druid Tank with aquatic form for breathing and faster movement

These two are definitely the worst of the bunch. It’s not the need for water breathing that gets me… it’s the broken pathing that happens to Brann and my pets. I’ll be fighting a pack of Kobyss just find and suddenly Brann speeds off a mile away and pulls like a dozen sharks. Or, my pets get stuck on the terrain and can’t reach the target, so I’m forced to dismiss and resummon them.

looks at with water breathing and faster swim speed

I want the pet from there.

I have to disagree the worst delve is actually Kriegval’s Rest then more specifically the Dagran version of Kreigval’s Rest or maybe Fungal Folly when you have to dispel the mushrooms.

I agree about that one fungal folly. It’s annoying, doable but annoying. My issue is the underwater delves is not being able to see some of the mechanics. My eyesight royally sucks.
