War is all fun and games until you send Old God armies to kill civilians and shopkeepers. This is the kind of war crime that the Alliance finds unacceptable and punishes right?

Anduin said he didn’t want any civilian casualties, but then he immediately sent an army of molten giants to purge the civilian districts? Good thing the Alliance faked an invasion from the north too, to really maximize civilian casualties as the evacuation funneled them all south to the docks.

Those fire elementals were clearly breaking orders. They obviously deserve to be locked up in the Stockades with the other fire elementals being held in there.

Man, the Alliance has a serious grudge against dinosaurs. First the void ravasaurs, then the undead void devilsaur, now attacking the brutosaurs?!
How dare.

If you look around in the background during the raid, past the barriers where you can’t go, there’s a few dead brontosaurs and quite a few dead civilians.

#morallygraymane.
nice.
i like this, i just hope that someone realize what the dark irons have done here, this should bring conflict directly in the alliance. if we had good writers.

It doesn’t matter. It will either never actually get put into the narrative or it will be brushed by most Alliance fans aside as not being as bad as what the Horde has done.

Kind of annoying, but par for course, in 8.1.5 they’ve “updated” the city post-raid. The ONLY difference is Rastakhan is missing from his throne, and absolutely nothing else is changed. Even the same ships are in the bay.

Every time my guild and our allies launched WPvP raids on Dazar’Alor, I made it a point to order killing every Zandalari fisherman trying to catch fish from the docks.
Wouldn’t want them accidentally hook one of those bombs with their fishing rod and blow the lid on the 7th Legion’s plans, after all.
They’re not civilians, they’re an unwitting bomb squad for the Zandalari Navy.

Uh… yeah. That sums it up. Because it wasn’t.
I will meet you in the middle and say it was wrong, though. And about time too. I want to get in on some of this morally gray. You guys shouldn’t get to hog it all.

This was the true payback for Teldrassil. Down with the dinos.
Oh I agree with you. It is by no means as worse as what the Horde has done in this expansion, not by a long shot but, that’s not the point. The point I am getting at is where do you draw the line?
Is it okay for the Alliance to kill as many civilians as they want as long as they keep the number under the Horde’s kill count? Shouldn’t the Alliance try to hold themselves to better standards then how the Horde is acting?
I am bothered by the potential future hypocrisy. The Horde is pretty much constantly made to feel bad for their acts through out this expansion but, when it comes to when the Alliance does something bad its almost always brushed aside as unfortunate but these things happen, flat out ignored and is never spoken of again, or just chalked up to not being as bad as what the Horde has done.
I just want the Alliance to actually hold their people responsible for their actions in the narrative. To show that they truly do hold themselves to these standards instead of just ignoring them and never actually punishing the responsible party.
To be clear, I am not posting this in defense of the Horde’s actions in this expansion. My main is this DK and I am just waiting for Bolvar to call us back to Scourge 2.0 the lot of ya!

You’re just mad the Alliance isn’t cool enough for dinosaurs.

Haven’t you heard, it isn’t a war crime if the Alliance does it, only the Horde. And I don’t even blame the Alliance fanboys for this, I blame the writers cause they always gloss over the crimes committed by the Alliance whereas when the Horde commits a warcrime they get a big flashy quest. If you ask me, there should have been a quest where you are ordered to hold the exit and slaughter anyone… ANYONE that tries to pass, Civilian and Soldier alike, to give it the same weight that Teldrassil had where Alliance people were flying through the city trying to rescue 1000 people in what was it? 3 minutes or less? Less I think. But again, the writers just gloss over it and the Alliance fanboys get to ignore it because of it.

you are right.
i guess that the main difference for now is that there doesn’t seem to be any indication that alliance leadership knows that some forces are going too far. it would be interesting to see if this is acknowledged in the narrative.
assuming that we have competents writers.

Sylvanas also broke orders in both developing and deploying the Plague on Gilneas and beyond - which was against the against the Horde’s laws not only under Garrosh’s reign, but also under Thrall’s before him, as the Kor’kron Overseers that had been station in the Undercity by Thrall warned Forsaken players about doing any more work on the Plague.
Sylvanas was not forgiven after the Siege of Orgrimmar just for helping out, nor was the use of the Plague any sort of secret, as Varian specifically says at the end of the conflict:
We need to investigate cleansing the plague from Gilnean lands so they can rebuild. We must contain Sylvanas.
But the Horde under Vol’jin never addressed any of Sylvanas’ actions. Vol’jin never punished Sylvanas for anything she should have been held accountable for. No, instead, during Vol’jin’s rule, he actually withdrew the Kor’kron from the Undercity - once again, placed there not by Garrosh, but by Thrall - and gave Sylvanas even more freedom. Which is even more astonishing because Overseer Kraggosh was mutilated and killed during Vol’jin’s rule, and nothing was done about it, and this was flaunted in plain sight with his body openly displayed in a cage in the Undercity.
And the practically literal crowning achievement of Vol’jin’s reign after just ignoring broken Horde laws and never actually punishing the responsible party? Vol’jin appointing Sylvanas Warchief. Why is the Horde is holding the Alliance to standards they don’t even hold themselves to?

Ehhhhh.
P sure a Brontosaur doesn’t count as a civilian. And knowing the attitude of Trolls, even civilians are likely to fight back against an invasion. (Which then makes them combatants.)
I’m pretty sure the Alliance did not orchestrate mass murder of civilians. Unlike Brennadam :I
