Was Odyn good or evil?

He’s actually morally gray, calmed down a bit by the time we break him out and has a cool lava beard, whats not to like?

Unlike the Horde I dont think we can define Odyn as evil.
He is a titan keeper and pretty much a guardian of their creation which is the world.

Not saying he is not an Ahole but far from evil.
The Horde on the otherhand? Marauding bandits hellbent on destruction.
Their only good point is that they dont seem to want to destroy the world on purpose.

I REALLY don’t like Odyn at all. What he did to Helya was disgusting and I don’t feel bad for him at all that she locked him up. He ultimately is trying to protect Azeroth, no matter how gross his actions may be. Like others have said… very grey character.

Ends: Good. He wants to protect Azeroth.
The motive: Conceited. He thought that only he knew the right way to go about it.
The means: Evil. He twisted one who he supposedly saw as a daughter to meet his goal.

The road to Helya is paved with good intentions.

I can comfortably say that Odyn is no more of a jerk than Marvel Comics Odin. :):stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That Odin was pretty good for most part

Actually Marvel Comics Odin is a SUPREME jerk. He’s imprisoned his wife, gone full autocratic bonzo…and is in a major snit about the new Thor (Jane Foster).

Well, in old comics like Journey into Mystery, he was just the wise old father king XD

She was so popular as Thor that they killed her off and ended the run due to poor sales. With the upcoming movie, they have brought her back to life, but I have a feeling that this comic’s going to fail also.

I miss my homeboy Odyn. Why did I even stop jumping to Skyhold to chill with him between battles?

It’s not the weapon that counts. It’s the warrior.

Go ahead dude! On side note, I wonder whether he cares about the faction war at all XD

I’m sure he’s pro righteous fighting for one thing, and definitely against all the damage being done to Azeroth.

Logically, he should still be involved in the story. He’s just a “last expansion class specific” character and that’s why he is getting no updates.

But who cares at this point even?

Why “Would norse gods” in specific be “dumb and arrogant”?
Why not every single god-like religious figure?

- As for Odyn being bad or good:
I find him neither. He see’s something needs done, tries to do it.
The way to there might be crooked.
Plenty of chars like that around.

EDIT;
Also holy m- of ressurections I did there by accident.
This thread was in my feed for some reason… :joy:

Sounds like what DnD calls Lawful Neutral (think Judge Dredd) at worst, but not evil. Which can be said for Odyn, Xe’ra at her worst and BfA Yrel.

People are mistaking some things. Titans were designed by the Gods to fulfill their plans. To Control Azeroth. Odyn was doing what he was made to do. All though all the titans bare distinct personality. Their central function is to fulfill the duties ordained to them.
No, he is neither evil nor good, a pawn.

I wouldn’t say good, but i also wouldn’t say pitch black evil, he is moral grey but screw’em he’s a slaver and i don’t like slavers

Lawful evil

You mean watchers/keepers? Cuz the titans creators are the first ones, rather a picky commentary but still just to clarify.

So which one are you talking about?
The titans(pantheon: aman’thul, eonar, etc)
Or the
Keepers: loken, odyn, tyr, thorim, ra ?

I don’t think it’s that simple a quesiton.
