Was Freezing Trap Nerfed in TBC Classic?

I remember being able to chain trap indefinitely when I was a hunter in TBC retail. I could swear the freeze effect lasted 1 minute, not 20 seconds so I could retrap over and over again. No way to do that now, as the freeze effect only lasts 20 seconds. Am I nuts, or did they change this in TBC classic?

You’re nuts.

But, seriously, I don’t think 20 seconds is a change, but it’s been a long time.

You chain trap by training the surv talents and/or not standing on top of the mob you cc’d. Also helps if you drop the trap early, so the CD is going while it’s down.

EDIT: I think one the sets has reduced cast time on traps too? Dont remember.

Talk about nerfs, I could swear that spellfire was tied to aldor and that if you didn’t have sufficient rep with aldor you couldn’t get the spellfire pattern. I’m talking about day 1 btw.

Ah… Clever Traps. Thank you!

Pretty much what Minigun says, Beast Lord reduces the cooldown and you can chain trap but you need to buy some time so some distance between the traps is expected.

Ah it’s all coming back…

Resourcefulness reduces trap cooldown
Trap Mastery decreases trap resist chance
Clever Traps increases trap duration

I’m pretty sure as a TBC hunter I specced way down into the survival tree in classic and it was a blast!

Freezing Trap NEVER lasted 1 minute. It was always 20 seconds at max rank.

Yes, but what I had forgotten is that you can extend the duration with survival talents.
(reply is to profits)

You needed the talents even back then.

It is just that every hunter back then got it so that they were valuable in heroics.
