Was first Beta Wave Streamers Only

I see like a handful of non streamers… but all streamers got the invite. I guess its not randomized?

I mean, there may be significant amount of streamers, but consider if they didnt give access to the streamers they wouldnt get as much advertisement. sub numbers are low, they need some adverts to get more players

First wave is always streamer heavy. This is not news. New invites to us normies will trickle in.

I’m sure that streamers were priotitized because of their audience other than that i hear that the first wave of invites was only 1.5k people so you can bet that the next wave(s) will be mostly non streamers.

If they play it like the classic beta, it’ll stay small, we only got a few classic waves.

Ahh is that right? I would think that they’d want more people but i guess a couple thousand is enough to find bugs.

Big streamers are always gonna get keys… it’s never gonna happen any other way.

I got 3 invites across my 5 accounts.

Very simple…

Blizz employee’s get to send out friends and family invites. All employees. Even the janitor.

So not surprising that at least one janitor at Blizz wanted to get some “streamer cred” by tossing them a FF key.

There is no conspiracy. Calm down

For the most part they’re just making sure the systems work

It appears they are using the “beta” for hype generation purposes like they did with the Classic beta. I doubt very much that the streamers are going to gain the massive followings this time around.

That was said last time and did not hold true. The vast majority of players who were not streamers only got into open beta weekends. It is actually fine by me as they have much more of the original end game code this time so most of the bugs should be worked out which is very different than Classic was. I can wait for launch.

Lol, it isnt like the levelling experience has changed in outlands other than the level matching anyway.

It’s free advertisement for blizzard to do it that way. Especially with certain streamers that play it, they get a HUGE audience for it.

If anything, it’s just “hype” to get people hyped for no reason because it’s going to be just like how things went with classic. The leveling to 70 will not take long compared to leveling to 60. This also depends if blizzard keeps the instance cap as well.

I do hope that blizzard will release fresh servers for both Classic and TBC. I personally would be ok with starting fresh. But those that want to go out the portal, see you after you leave and waiting for TBC phase 2.

I agree but, I want to see my some Naxx gear Pally vs. Hellfire Boars, to see how bad my memory of how hard they hit in original TBC is.

I feel ya. I hope I am wrong, but I have a feeling Blizzard is far more interested in hype than they are feedback so it will likely stay streamers with some open weekends for us plebs. You never know though, you may be one of the ones who gets lucky!

End game wasn’t tested in classic, actually they only tested to like lvl 40.

Naxx was the only one tested on the PTR IIRC

From what I saw, naxx gear blows stuff away.

I don’t think they are legitimate classic players enough to receive the beta.

What does being a legitimate “classic” player have to do with the “tbc classic” beta?

Many people who wouldn’t touch vanilla classic are going to be playing TBC classic.

I need to make another “watch me kill asmongold and freak out video”

Nothing against the bald man… I love his content
