Was changing my mode of payment, got a charge for $1

My old credit card was expiring so I wanted to change it, then after doing so I got a text from my bank saying I got charged $1. Now I am not sure if this is valid/that there will be a charge if I change credit card or if this might be some hack attempt or what.

It’s standard practice for a vendor to ping the card with a $1 charge to verify it. It’ll fall off in a day or three.
