Give it up, if PvP in vanilla 2005/6 had pre-made vs pug stomps even just 25% of the time Blizzard would have hotfixed it within a week. They wouldn’t risk tens if not hundreds of thousands of customers ditching their flagship game due to a completely broken and boring PvP system for most players. You know people used to play this game on 56k modems, with mice that had 2 buttons and one wheel, and one account on one computer with 2005 tech and no addons? Are you playing the game like that, as intended in the “original design”? Were paid realm transfers part of the original design? How about huge mega-servers and continent wide battlegroups? Not part of the design of vanilla? I guess some things change.
Thats a whole lot of words to not make a single valid argument
Your wall of text of a hypothetical past where blizzard might have done something that never happened has no relevance
Premades are winning the majority of their games, not loosing. So that’s a moot point, at best.
I’m a apart of the infamous WSG premades. I got exalted after 14 days of WSG not months. How did I do that, winning.
WINNING!
So a stupid change now is making things more authentic to Vanilla WoW? I agree it should have been caught and addressed sooner. But not a stupid change by any means.
100% Tauren
WSG and AB we’re filled to the brim with premades back in Vanilla. I can see you got rank 11 back in Vanilla. But clearly you were AFK back then or paid for someone else to PVP for you. Or else you would have remembered this.
Imagine thinking twinking has not always been a staple of classic wow. You’re right, daddy blizzard should be telling me how to play the game and how to have fun. I’ll send you some money to stock up on soylent if you give me your PayPal.
nice, ignore 90% of his statement while strawmaning! Thats the stuff. Very WoW forum meta.
He didn’t say anything but make assumptions about what blizzard would have done in a hypothetical past that never happened
maybe go back to school and get past a third grade reading level?
His entire argument relys on this hypothetical past version of blizzard doing something they never did
Maybe learn how to construct a valid argument
“But if this thing that didn’t happen did happen they would have done this, probably” is not a valid argument. You cant speak for what blizzard 15 years ago would have done about an issue that wasn’t present, especially as an outsider
My lord you are incompetent. I’m actually sad for you. You have not made one credible point this entire time.
That is his main point. And its completely valid to assume blizzard would have stopped this Premade vs Pug meta ASAP if it did happen back then, which it DIDN’T, that is also another point he is making.
How many times dropped on head?
The “premade meta” is exactly by design, they specifically built in the ability to queue as full groups because they intended for people to actually group up for these bgs.
This is classic pvp, warts and all. Dont like it? Go play retail where they made the changes you seek
Here is where you for some reason have a strange disconnect in your logic.
“This is classic PvP, warts and all.”
As explained earlier, it is NOT classic PvP.
Classic PvP had smaller battlegroups, non-xrealm for the majority of the time, AV was never the meta, paid xfers, and no limits on faction balance. All this contributed to the cancerous PvP system we have atm. Vanilla had way more PuG vs PuG battles.
Idk if you’ve been living under a rock, but AV hasn’t been the meta since they fixed the ability for alliance to make cross realm premades
Now the meta is exactly as it was in vanilla, warsong premades
The only difference is, now everyone and their mother is grinding rank at the same time
I used to spend 12+hours a day curbstomping pugs in WSG/AB. Was literally all I did for months back then. The main difference is that usually the other team would just give up and let us run the flags back and end it quickly and mercifully instead of camping their graveyards for 20min to make them never want to Q again.
So all the people who are exalted after losing all their games , you’re going to downgrade their rep, right?
Couldn’t imagine there are many people who hit exalted losing almost all their games. Most the people who are exalted win most of their games so is a moot point.
You dont understand how this works obviously.

With the 10 rep per loss plus the 50 rep from turning in marks of honor every 3rd match, it would take an exceptionally unlucky pug who never has a flag cap 1575 matches to hit exalted(excluding human rep gain bonus).
With this “fix”, it would take that same pug 2520 matches.
Again, this is pure worst-case scenario, but still gg. My advice for Alliance players who can’t find a premade is to just nope the fk out of PvP until TBC.
Exactly what I was doing as a Horde, pretty much losing my way to exalted with 3000 left to go now, it’s looking like another two weeks or better if I have to win or manage a flag return against premade teams that graveyard camp you.
