You are correct but may want to reword for clarity.
PVP did not have Xrealm at all for most of vanilla, queues could be long.
When vanilla got Xrealm PVP, it also got battle groups, initially consisting of about 6 realms per battle group (only 6)
AV was never a meta for most of vanilla until it was hit by the final death hammer bringing it to an almost NPCless experience, and the few remaining NPCs greatly nerfed resulting in an AV that could be cheesed in 10 minutes.
This is frustrating to me. There is such a high level of inconsistency in the decision making from Blizzard. It tilts from “No changes!!!” To “This actual mechanic from vanilla is an exploit and we’re chang-… adjusting it!” Right back to ‘’No changes!” The most comical is when the contradictory decisions come out on the same day.
Additionally, this is a fairly large bug to go undetected for months. I’m not sure how this particular bug would have made it through. I assumed reputation and appropriate honor gains would be one of the first things to check… You’ve allowed people to benefit from a fairly huge bug (20% reputation increase from a pure loss) for months. It would either be appropriate to let the bug continue so all players have equal opportunities or roll back reputation gains obtained through the bug (10 reputation per loss).
The sheer scale that people are blowing this out of the water is both amusing and saddening at the same time. Capping a single flag would offer you more reputation as 3 losses.
Your 1/3 of a quest turn-in is worth more rep than what you got for a loss.
This basically does nothing to change what it takes to get exalted with WSG, which was to cap a lot of flags.
It does unfortunately if your not able to join or make a premade that wins. You got the consolation prize for at least trying. Now you get nothing and with the premade teams still out there farming people in there graveyards, as they are starting to do now in AB what’s the point anymore. I mean we are getting 5 capped and farmed in our starting graveyard and getting like 3 kills for a 15 minute wait.
Petition Blizzard to remove or severely reduce the effect premade groups have on these battlegrounds. Oh wait…people have been asking for that for 15 years lol.
Just accept it or purchase another product. Probably the latter since its hard to accept such an imbalanced competition. as ‘fun’. Fun will be sought elsewhere eventuallly.
I have played some 1200 games so far and still have 3000 reputation to go to get exalted. I expected to lose my way because of all the premade teams. I have even joined premade teams and it was no better then had I just solo queued and got lucky to get on a premade team for a win. Not ever server can build a good composition premade team and guarantee a victory. Our server would only manage 1-2 wins in a 4 hour period, so my luck was just as good solo queuing and trying my best with people I never met or would meet again because of CRBG.
The next question is why are you doing that. What could possibly be worth losing 1500 games for…and if it is worth losing that many games, is it still worth losing a few more?
Perhaps you’re subjecting yourself to this needlessly.
Because I have OCD. Maxing out reputation is one of the things I am locked on and can’t help it, same with achievements which we don’t have yet and questing. It’s something that has to be done. But couple that with my depression, it can get very destructive very fast. As I said in another post, I am a healer, do I stay to defend like I should or abandon and follow the herd and lose territory we just grabbed.
You get
0: 16 2/3 rep
1: 51 2/3 rep
2: 86 2/3 rep
3: 155 rep
per number of flags captured per match
on wsg weekend
0: 16 2/3 rep
1: 61 2/3 rep
2: 105 2/3 rep
3: 185 rep.
This doesn’t take into account concerted efforts which does give more rep. This is for flags and marks.
