Warsong Gulch and Collison Objects, so I noticed that the big tree logs in the middle of warsong are not solid, so you can kite people around it and still shoot or heal them which is just odd, you can do this on other bgs also that don’t have a solid structure, why is this still a thing? most things in wow have a solid structure and you can’t shoot through it, why hasn’t this been changed? this would add so much more dynamic to it bgs.

because it takes time to learn the ins and outs of every map and if you knew everything up front you would get bored.

I have a thread asking for pillars in battlegrounds. Take all the soft pillars that you can shoot through and make them hard pillars.

you can jump over certain spots on those stumps.
some of my favorite los has been in wsg over the years:

sawmill outside of horde base
closet at exit of alliance base 2nd level
both small rooms in flagroom
utilising these is a great measure of player map awareness

how so? bgs have hard and soft walls, you have to play them and make mistakes to learn, then you can exploit that against people who haven’t learned yet.

compare that with arena where all that differentiates maps is how many pillars are there and if the pillars are squares or circles.

because you can’t make something solid in one bg and not in another its literally goofy, the stumps should be LOS and you should not be shooting or healing through them, it literally just makes it a middle ground fight, they should just remove the stumps or actually make them do something other than cause toxic game play.

its not goofy, you just need to learn what is a hard los vs what isn’t. then you’ll be fine.

You just want to grip people through walls.

no, i think you are missing mine, you want the thing to act like you think its supposed to act upfront, rather than how it actually acts. you basically don’t want to have to learn the map.

Dude you act as if learning what does and doesn’t LoS is hard. It’s 2024, everyone knows which pillars actually LoS and don’t LoS.

Like the other poster said, you’re missing the point.

PvP is balanced around 3v3 arena, which means it’s balanced around LoS, and this balance translates into battlegrounds, which has a major lack of LoS pillars. Hence why MM hunters, mage and blood dk’s have a killing fiesta with 40-60 yard un-lineable dps and grips.

If they intend to replace Rated Battlegrounds with Blitz as the default ladder environment for BGs, then they have to include pillars in these bgs.

LOL learn the map? it has nothing to do with learning anything about the map man, i really hope the majority of players don’t think like you, because at this point you might as well just not have LOS on anything , yeah, sure seems like that’s the kinda gameplay this type of person wants lol grip through walls, heal through walls and hit through walls, that is so toxic especially for first time players seeing that LOL i bet some just straight hate the map at that point, oh wow i just got gripped through a big tree stump yeah im good…

i didn’t say it was hard, it just has to be done.

some walls allow it, in which case it is a ranged advantage. if you don’t understand concepts like that in game and map design don’t be asking for map changes.

It’s been done by everyone and their brother and mother since 2005. What actually is your counter argument against LoS pillars in a PvP environment that is balanced around 3v3 arena with pillars?

bg maps have sections which will provide favor to different types of classes, mastery of bgs is learning stuff like where ranged has the advantage vs where melee has the advantage.

asking for current soft walls to be turned to hard LoS is asking for a ranged zone to be converted to a melee zone, fundamentally changing how the map is played and balanced. this would have many other domino effects which would require further changes and updates and the next thing you know nobody is happy.

PvP is balanced around 3v3 arena pillars, not specific regions of specific battleground maps.
