Warriors currently worst class in Shadowlands?

You literally cherry picked the 1st/3rd parse for Kyrian on each of those fights. And if you compare top Kyrian performances with their Venthyr counterparts (or even Venthyr in the Top100) on YOUR example fights, they are ~10%-20% behind.

Is their damage fine. Yes. Would they do substantially more damage as Venthyr? Absolutely.

They would do more single target damage yes, I never denied that. The point I was making was that despite picking Night Fae or Kyrian, they still managed to beat out similarly geared Venthyr warriors.

The trade off is much better burst aoe, and a different playstyle than Venthyr presents.

As long as you’re not picking Necrolord, you’ll be fine in PVE content.

If you take away all the Venthyr Warriors, the statistical averages for Arms in raid content bring it down near Fury Warrior, which clearly needs a buff.

We can be pendantic and argue that yes, you can finish a Mythic Shriekwing fight with Survival Hunters, Fury/NonVenthyrArms Warriors, and Frost Mages; thats not the point.

The point is there is a clear and substantial discrepancy in performance of covenants, which is against the goals of blizzard when they made them in the first place.

“Arms warrior needs a DPS buff, along side Fury Warriors.” is a much different argument than, “Non-Venthyr Arms Warriors aren’t good.”

Except that was the point. Different covenants do different things. Night Fae and Kyrian have less single target, but not so much you’d hold yourself back for single target, if you play correctly. You’re also receiving something in exchange for the very small loss in single target, a bigger boost in AoE and Cleave targets.

If you’re making an argument that Arms Warriors need buffs, than make that argument. But the Argument of you can only do good single target if you pick Venthyr, is false.

And all other Warrior covenants do 10% or worse damage than Venthyr Warriors on nearly every single boss in the raid.

Currently for Warrior you go
Venthyr → Raid DPS
Kyrian/NightFae → PvP / Prot / M+

And if you do anything else, you are gimping yourself. Period.

So what are you trying to argue here? That covenants should all do similar damage? That other classes don’t have to make this choice like Hunters with Night Fae and Kyrian?

The other non-venthyr covenants have areas of the game they’re good at, but it would never prevent them from being invited to any type of content you would invite a venthyr warrior to.

So people aren’t running 17’s as Venthyr? Or killing Mythic Bosses as Kyrian (supposedly the third worst for single target)? Or doing content? There’s a big difference between this isn’t a viable choice (IE Necrolords), and you’ll wind up doing a bit less damage.

As long as you’re not picking Necrolords, you should be fine in pretty much all content in this game.

This was blizzards intention with the system in the first place.

But I digress, this has completely shifted away from the purpose of the thread. You keep jumping to the conclusion that because a handful of people can perform 90% as well as Venthyr, that its fine.

My sole point in the first place was that Warrior brings 5% damage to the raid and warrants a spot, even as non Venthyr. However, Venthyr parses shroud the fact that Arms would be just as bad as fury if it were not for Signet/Condemn.

Or all the best Arms raiders went Venthyr?

Using the same logic, then no good players play Fury and it would actually be mid pack if more people played it

Very few do

Mid pack? Dunno about that.

A significant bit higher than it is now? Absolutely.

Its a chicken and the egg argument. This is pointless

It’s
not?

If this is how you handle disagreement, yes, you’re going to find most of your discussions to be pointless.

Cant disagree with fact that Venthyr is 10-20% ahead on almost all fights in CN. Anything beyond that is speculation.

You can, top performers demonstrate you’re incorrect on that indisputably. Your theorizing that they’re somehow an abnormality, and there isn’t simply a skillgap between them and the ones to follow them, would be speculation.

The top performers, like literally top 1-5, are still 10% behind Venthyr on most fights

That only holds true on Huntsman. Every other fight it’s considerably closer than that or we simply don’t have a sample population in mythic yet.

Can you show/tell me where you got this information?

Excuse me, sir. That is IN-COR-RECT. I can see that you are engaging in ONE PERCENTER BEHAVIOR.

In fact, as Ion stated multiple times, the differences between the Covenants would not be noticeable unless you are a ONE PERCENTER. E.g., the difference will be exactly 1 percent between Covenants for all given classes.

The fact that you believe that the difference is greater than one percent is perhaps a condition of your one percenter mind which is making you blow said one percent out of proportion in a mental phantasmagoria. This is commonly idiomatically understood as “losing the forest for the trees,” or conditionally understood as myopia.

I strongly believe that if you simply listen to what Ion said and believe it intrinsically without examining data like a worrywort, that you will soon find that everything is working exactly as intended and you should choose your Covenant based on things that really matter, e.g. mounts and transmogs.

Warcraftlogs. Filter by Warrior for every fight. Then flip between covenants.

  1. You’re 1/10 Heroic. You can do your content without even picking a covenant.
  2. The difference is literally 10% - not 1% - given by logs and my own personal experience. I switched from Necro to Kyrian and went from 3.8k->4k dps (~5%). Then later went from Kyrian to Venthyr and went from 4k->4.4k dps (~10%). Now I sim for 5.2k.
  3. You CAN kill bosses as non-Venthyr. Again that’s not the point. The point is Venthyr is head and shoulders above other covenants in raid while still being towards the bottom of all DPS. non-Venthyr Warriors are just as bad as Fury is.
