There’s a large fan theory that the rest of the game after that is just Squall dying and having a dream as he fades away, because that is when the story goes pretty wacky, sorry for derailing just made me think about that
Huh? Arenas are NEVER a 1v1 situation RANDY…come on now RANDY. I don’t know what your gotcha moment was here honestly.
This is an entirely different conversation.
There are many more classes right now that give Hunters trouble in general. Warriors are not the sole class that feels like I can’t stay ahead in Arenas right now. The original point though is that having infinite uptime/mobility, insane defensives, and absolutely BUSTED damage with Mortal Strike is not ok. Pick two, lose one.
If a Warrior W keys a DPS with no regard for his healers positioning they should be able to get punished by dieing. Currently Warr defensives allow them to just brainlessly push in Arena without the worry of getting deleted.
I actually find a DH or DK currently easier to kill than a Warrior, and that’s saying something. So this is the point RANDY, the current iteration of Warrior is even more dumbed down and W key than before. It promotes extremely bad gameplay.
I’d say MoP second wind warrior was worse just as purely on it’s own, but in the context of the xpac then everyone at least had tools that didn’t make it nearly as oppressive.
Unless you’d done nothing before that point to make the Warrior use Die by the Sword. Once that is out of the way none of our defenses really prevent damage. And even that only prevents melee and reduce other sources by 30%.
Oh man please don’t remind me of Second wind Warriors. They would hold off entire raids by themselves tanking in the frontline with Second wind. The only thing to kill them was bugged Stampede
8 falls to the wayside because of 7 I feel. That and it’s combat wasn’t that intuitive, going against every rpg instinct of “levels make you stronger” but even though the shift in story did get a bit weird it’s still one of my favorites of the series.
That and for some reason I loved the card game and was so glad ff14 has it too.
My regular rsk is near 40k, with crits being under 90k and with burst up it’s 98k.
My sotwl after all the nerfs only does a combined 120k on a 40 second cd, with burst up.
For me it’s just being able to get to LOS that’s important. BM and MM could probably use more mobility, but even then I think it’s other specs that have too much uptime first.
The story behind 7 was definitely a huge tonal change compared to all the other games before it and honestly it’s held back the series a bit in it’s later stories trying to recreate it (ff13).
I feel the last good one was actually 12, I know a lot of people hated vaan, but I just loved revisiting the world of ivalice having loved fft
