Hey folks,
Just a heads-up for everyone: the Plunderstorm bug where recently purchased items on your toons disappear without a trace is back. Blizzard has yet to acknowledge this issue… Remember the Guild Bank bug? This is basically the same thing, but with items you just bought.
Here’s what happened: I bought 500 herbs of each kind (from TWW) on the Auction House, spending roughly 35k. No big deal. I did some Patron Orders to get my free Knowledge Point, like I do every week. A friend then invited me to play Plunderstorm, so I joined for five games. When I returned, only the Mycobloom (the first herb I bought) was still in my bags. Everything else had vanished.
I’m just sharing this to warn others not to fall victim to this bug. Blizzard has a history of ignoring these types of issues. I learned my lesson for 35k—yours might be even more costly.
P.S. This bug was also present in Dragonflight Plunderstorm. A friend had a similar experience with the crest exchange NPC: they upgraded multiple crests, but when they logged back in, everything was gone. Blizzard basically told them to deal with it. So yeah… be cautious.
Update: Missing Items Restored
As of today (January 17th), all my previously missing items have been restored to my bags. I’m unsure if Blizzard intervened or if repeated logouts and logins somehow triggered the fix, but to my surprise, when I opened my Alchemy tab, the quantity of herbs was back to around 1,000 of each type.
Interestingly, I had only repurchased 500 herbs yesterday after the bug, yet now I have two stacks of ~500 each for all types. This happened despite having cleaned up my bags multiple times throughout the day yesterday.
If anyone else experienced this bug, I’d suggest keeping an eye on your inventory—you might just get your items back.
