true, the work on the UI is good, leaves some to be desired in optional art styles for various elements, and some features that I feel could be baseline. It put ELVUI on the bench for now though, which is a pretty nice change.
I am about to have to pick up Leatrix+ though for auto vendoring.

Indeed, Iāve wanted it to be moveable, but I never wanted the look to change. There is no reason there couldnāt have been a toggable option to keep using the old UI in terms of look. They could have added a toggle and call it āretroā, or āclassicā and for that toggle use the art style of the old player frame, target frame, mini map etc.

So do I, and the new UI makes it far more difficult to have the modded UI Iāve spent the last decade happily using.

How do you move the XP and Rep bars, and how can you make the icons below bags and around minimap bigger?

Yes, when you go into edit mode (i think thatās what they call it) youāll see a bunch of boxes, most are unchecked by that stance bar seems to just default to checked (IDK why yet).
Anyway among the boxes there is one called
"cast barā that you may have inadvertently selected.
I hope this helps. I will be monitoring this thread if you need any more help or have questions (Iām just figuring out stuff myself).
Ok, so now everybody loved the classic UI and didnāt use addons to change it

no, i have cast bar uncheckedā¦ unchecking the boxes in āedit modeā only removes your ability to see them while u are editingā¦ they are still there.
the cast bar is still there, even though i have it uncheckedā¦ the talking heads box is still active even though i have it uncheckedā¦

Whatās so awful about it?
Iāve spent over 20 hours on beta just fiddling with the UI
Thatās actually the problem.
Most people donāt want to spend hours fiddling with their UI to get it right. I get why Blizz did this, and itās not horrible how it was done from a configurability perspective.
The problem is that the default is a stark contrast to what people are used to which abandons the form elements of the old UI. This is particularly true for the more āmodernā UI elements which no longer have a medieval, classic style to them but rather ape the sheeny-shiny elements in many add-ons, which is not the style that people are used to.
If youāre one who downloaded a UI mod before this, then this change may or may not be goodā¦ but people who do that assume that everyone does that because people who played with the de facto UI (probably most people) were quiet about it because they were not passionate about something that they mostly wanted to have limited engagement with (until it was taken away and they were inconvenienced).
Now they HAVE to spend time dealing with it, and with the giant map, and the eyesore small fonts, and the miniscule XP bar and bag buttons, and the menu buttons that you need a magnifying glass to seeā¦ not to mention the clock with 5px font characters. Oh yeah, and not all of the elements stay in the same place and end up obscuring buttons during play, which is actually a huge problem for some classes. Oh and you can set your bars to the same size and lock them but for some reason Iāve noticed they often end up just barely offset or misaligned, or a slightly different size, which is sometimes visually jarring.
Personally? Iāll get used to it, and Iām crafty with this stuff so Iāll get it sorted outā¦ but others simply donāt want to have to deal with resetting their UI frequently to get the experience they previously had while never getting that back. I get why theyāre upset about thatā¦ it is not a perfect UI change, and it does not cater to people who did not want to have to mess with it, and itās OK they feel that way.

ok so in options there are a series of action bars (up to 8)
so its under gameplay
action bars > action bars 1-8
Not everybody, but I did. I just wish there were 2 options, leave the same for a lot of people like myself just by checking one box. To the people that wanted this, you deserve what you want. Iām happy for you.

this lets me hide the cast bar?
what does the Classic preset do besides move the Player Frame?

Youāre going to have to try it. As I said Iām figuring it out, but if you have more bars checked than you WANT then it is likely the reason is that there is a bar checked.
Like I said, the BOX for the stance bar (in options) for me keeps DEFAULTING to being checked, even though I NEVER CHECK IT. So even though you never check it it is probably doing the same thing and it comes back because when you saved your setting you had left it up for whatever reason (prob cause youāre learning, like me and everyone else) so UNCHECK THAT BOX and now that youāve changed something the āsaveā (changes) button will go from grey to red. Now save the new setting (with no stance bar box checked; unchecked).
Iām going to stick around until you get it so let me know.
However do need a cig so give me 5 mins
I use a fair number of addons, but theyāre simple ones that require little setup. Too many addons say they are āfully customizableā but give you no instructions how to set up the features theyāre so proud of.

Yep, this change adds complexity to something that used to be simple, and thatās an issue.

Awful? Not so much, just saying

Wow some of you fear change more than my old freaking dog.
Itās actually painful that you can get this out of sorts over an improvement to the game that you canāt figure out for yourselves.
Youāll all be just fine in lfr next patch, and have plenty of time to fix your bars.

Disliking change is not the same as fearing change.
Eh, not really āout of sortsā, more expressing and giving feedback about not liking the looks of the new UI. Iāve mostly seen constructive feedback, ie saying stuff like āthis is the part we donāt like, this is how it could be improvedā.
Whatās interesting to me is how me, and others asking for the OPTION of having a toggle for the old UI seems to really make some of you out of sorts to the point that you need to come with attacks and insults. Donāt worry, from what Iāve seen those that are like me and just donāt like the new look we are not coming with pitch forks asking for the new UI to be removed, nor are we asking for addons to be removed. We are just asking for the option to be able to use the old style.
