Yeah this new UI is almost identical to ElvUi in everyway. What a waste of resources. Why on earth would you spend time making something that already exists? I’ll bet someone at blizz is walking around bragging like they deserve credit for it too lol
Yup. I love it. The only thing I miss is mouse over egg elements
Give me an option to revert to the old UI. If I wanted a sleek scifi UI I would go play a scifi style game or get ElvUI to make it sleek. Just inform me when someone makes an addon that mimics the style of the old UI which seems to defeat the whole point of making this “fully” customizable UI by Blizzard. And yes I do know that I can move it around to mimic the way it used to be but to do so you have to remove all the art. I absolutely adore floating boxes that seemingly have no place /s. To keep the art you then have to have a brick of actions otherwise it is just clipping galore and the other bars don’t align with the main bar anyway. About to have the most addons used in my entire life, I usually only have details and dbm but seems I’ll need many UI addons to bring the original feeling of the UI back as this scifi sleek looks entirely disjointed from the fantasy game that WoW is.
New UI is good, but didn’t go far enough for me. ELvui does more with nameplates, etc. and just looks cleaner still. The new base UI is a good start but I need more than it can do.
I feel for you Rentfree. However, I no longer care because I can no longer play this garbage. They’ve made it abundantly clear they have no respect for player who have supported this game for decades.
Good luck hun
Thanks Zootie, I did check out all the features, but could not find this. Thanks for your fabulous advise.
There is a “classic” setting that puts everything where it was. The only real difference is the graphical changes.
I did this day 1 and turned off the gryphons.
So, I had a really hard time the moment I opened my character in warcraft, to summarize I have Asperger’s and Autism, and I unfortunately have a really hard time with extreme changes. The minute I opened up my game, I had an extremely hard time, and almost a slight panic attack.
However after doing some research online, I found some kind people who helped me get my setup as close as possible to the original one.
Also since wowhead doesn’t allow links, I’m spacing out characters so the link can be shown, just remove the spaces between the / and the first letter and the . And the com
First wowhead posted this on twitter the other day, https:// www.wowhead. com/news/return-to-the-classic-ui-make-your-ui-look-familiar-again-329558
It allows a close setup to the original, with some minor u can make to tweek it. Also you can save the profile and load it onto other characters. (Which I found very helpful ^-^)
Second, there is an addon called Bartender4, which if you go into it’s options there is a presets button, pick the option called Modern Art, Classic Interface and it pretty much sets up the action bar like it was pre shadowlands.
(He only downside I feel like I have had with this is some spells that have a pullout bar, (like portal or call pet) don’t seem to work properly yet,but you can place spells from it like Portal: Org, and Call Pet 2 on the action bars and they work fine)
Third there is a Weakaura which the link for it is https:// wago. io/nUR3v8dGp this link changes the menu bar with character/spellbooks/talent etc and color codes them similar to pre shadowlands as well so they aren’t all beige (except collection and shop, they still look beige to me)
I hope this helps anyone trying to recreate their og setup, I have a picture of how my Ui now looks here https:// twitter. com/ganon360/status/1589365612287262720?s=61&t=DllBU7kUkqfXKqWEQYYrKw

First wowhead posted on twitter how to change the setup using a special code

I’d post links if it was possible, but can’t in the reply’s.
This conversation makes me wonder if anyone at Blizzard is listening. Customers have voiced their complaints and some have even said they would leave the game after being loyal subscribers for years. A blue post from the developers regarding whether any action will be taken to give the customer base an option to return to what they find familiar and desirable would help. If nothing will be done, it would be good to know that also.
My favourite part of the ui so far is how broken it is, random abilities will glow when they shouldnt. Others don’t glow on procs at all after the first time. Randomly all abilities are removed from the bars. I’ve heard edit mode refuses to save for some people. Countless more little bugs, too many to mention. Oh and its ugly as hell, they could have kept the old one and given people the option to edit it. Now we have this mess…
Idk if Id be able to play this xpac at all if bartender werent a thing.
What is the weak aura? The new colour is so bad.
The new UI is like waking up and the brake and gas pedal in your car are now reversed. Sounds like not a big deal but to us loyalists it a bad idea.
I’ve deleted a lot of my addons now, Sexy Maps, Bartender, Grid, and am solely using the new UI. I really love how clean it is.
I’m lucky to have a large monitor; I’d use Bartender still if my monitor was smaller, or if I played on a laptop.
I’m really hoping that Blizz tweaks a few things still, like giving us a fading option for all bars etc, and making everything size-adjustable.
The chat box is buggy still, and even when I save it to the size I want, it reverts to the smallest size as soon as I reload.
But I have confidence that these issues will be addressed. And, all in all I really love the new look and accessibility of the UI. It’s nice when things are upgraded.
I’d be fine with the new UI if I didn’t have to reset everything each time I log in.
It’s getting pretty old having to reset everything each time I log in, even after saving it.
I haven’t used the old UI since Wrath.
Bring back the old UI!
