Warning - Communication

I am really confused, other than saying Howdy when I join a mythic+ dungeon or saying tyfg when we finish, I’ve gotten two of these warnings.
“Your recent communication behavior is not in line with how most World of Warcraft players communicate.
You have been reported multiple times for Language, and further reports may result in you losing privileges or being suspended.”

I would love to stop doing these things but I have no idea what I am actually doing to warrant this. Having this artificial boogie man following me around saying "don’t do that " when you have no Idea what “that” is, is really frustrating, confusing, and worrying.

Furthermore I put in a ticket to try and talk to a GM about it and they just sent me back basically a verbatum copy of what the warning message says.

I would love for these strange and peculiar warnings to dissappear.

I can’t fix a problem if I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

I would also like to know what behavior is causing me to get reported , I can’t fix a problem if I don’t know what it is.

This is all good news unless you actually are breaking the rules. First off the only time you get that message is when you get reported, and you already know that. The better news is these reports do get reviewed by a game master before and if any account action gets applied. With that said if the GM feels there was no violation you have nothing to worry about. So honestly at this point just keep gaming and interacting with your fellow heroes in a friendly manner.

It likely is they can’t see what promoted the warning, as this part of the system is automated. Although the warning could have been from something earlier that was catching up to you.

Unless you are given a silence or suspension, there’s probably no reason to pull the logs either.

As this is primarily a player discussion forum, myself included being only a player, we can only speculate on this also.

Maybe the reports were not based solely on the exact language, maybe it was something your fellow players felt spammy. You mentioned mythic, but post on a classic character, hopefully it’s not name related either?

Again, just speculation, sadly we’d not know as fellow players, what caused this either.

I should also add, if you want to see the warning be more verbose in what you were reported for, placing a suggestion in game would be ideal. The feedback a suggestion provides could be useful for future updates to the system.

Unfortunately, our Support staff cannot see what is being reported until it reaches the point where a ticket is created from it. Note, this system usually is looking at spam and toxic behavior.

I tried looking at your various chats, but nothing stands out.

Do you use any addons that might give callouts when you use an ability? If you are speaking very little in an instance, that is the only thing that comes to mind that might be annoying to others.

If you do, you might want to see if you can reduce or remove that messaging.

I hope that helps, Purger. Good luck!

For instance, interrupt and purge callout addons or macros are popular but can get on groupmates’ nerves, potentially resulting in “spam” reporting.

I mention this because your character name makes me think you’re proud of your ability to cast Purge.
