Anything blizzard does to warmode will result in whining from the opposing side… Us Horde have farmed alliance for months in warmode relentlessly, grouping up to massive numbers and camping their world quests… Now blizzard makes it to where more alliance will enable warmode and horde complain that the merciless killing is now happening to them… Well I main horde and I can say that when the tables turn it sucks but it is well deserved that we have to deal with them doing the same thing to us now. Also, many of you asked and complain that many alliance aren’t enabling it like cowards… well now you see why they didn’t enable warmode because it is happening to us now. Plus it isn’t THAT bad considering we still have huge numbers of players to help.
I think the frustration is more the imbalance of rewards and the total though of consequences of such a massive change. There are a number of things that blizzard could’ve done first that they clearly didn’t take the time to think about. In the 30 seconds I’ve written this post I’ve thought of a few things they could’ve tried.
- Free faction changes for realms where the population difference is over-scaled.
- Remove the warmode rewards all-together.
- Decreased sharding for impacted realms where sharding created an even larger problem.
I feel like removing warmode rewards would just result in the previous huge horde imbalance once more tbh.

I agree with the sentiment, but you forgot to address the fact that horde werent getting free 370 gear farming alliance in raid groups during the time horde controlled warmode lol
I honestly think people will complain no matter what system is implemented. Unfortunately it’s extremely hard to balance PvP in wow due to the insane amount of variables that you have. But in a way it’s kind of a blessing in disguise. It emulates the fact that life is not fair in the “world of warcraft” just like it in real life.
It’s not the fact that the alliance are out in “greater” numbers. Which they’re not, obviously, they’re just not as scared to come out of Boralus now in their 40 man raid. The problem is that they are getting a biased reward for their faction choice.
They are not getting any rewards in raids now …
I think it’s fine . Though to be frank in the servers I am in , I seldom see many alliance in WM not since they changed the way the 370 gear could be got.
Do realms even matter in warmode? People here keep complaining about it but i never actually see alliance or even horde for that matter from my server anywhere in warmode. It just seems everywhere is crossrealm.
Not sure, supposedly my realm is Horde dominant but only thing I see around are raids of ally killing everyone and Horde raids are nowhere to be seen.
I see that you haven’t faced legions of alliance on every flight path yet
