I don’t believe the pet silhouettes is the reason for the observer removal. It might be an excuse they came up with, but the real reason is that it’s an old model and they want to bring in new models.
It’s also got a giant butthole for some reason. That might be another major part of it.
I do not really play those classes any more, But I support my caster brothers and sisters.
As a Warlock I like the new pet options.
As a Mage I never played Water Ele, lmao.
It kind of makes sense in terms of profile/outline, even if this isn’t a moba where that type of thing is important. They also added a talent that puts an observer up in the air so maybe it’s wanting to avoid overlap.
I don’t really play Warlock, so I can’t care about this for myself, but it really just doesn’t make sense to take stuff away from players. Even if only 7 people liked the Observer and/or the Water Elemental. It’s always going to feel bad and their reasoning for getting rid of the Observer doesn’t even make sense.
I think so too and I think instead of deleting old models they should either give them a nice makeover or just add additional options and leave the old models in peace.
Given that Warlocks and Mages are top tier DPS right now, I think they’ll survive.
But the old models for all Warlock pets will still be available. Except this one.
I don’t play Mages so the change there makes no difference to me and in the case of Warlocks and observer I never used it and while I feel sorry for people that did/do losing it, I feel like Blizzard isn’t gonna change the decision especially with the customizations already going to barbershop testing without it.
So what you’re saying is, 99% of hunter pets should be deleted? Ok!
That’s the takeaway Blizzard will probably go with, lol.
In truth, by their own reasoning, it makes no sense.
Stop with this lie, please.
Ah yeah, that is true. They’re even bringing in some really ugly voidlord models.
I guess it’s probably the giant butthole then.
In the decade I’ve had this pet, I have never once noticed that.
I hadn’t noticed it until swinging my camera around behind that giant observer boss in one of the Hellfire citadel dungeons.
But once you notice it, you can never not look at it.
I don’t care about pet diversity or this topic in general, i’m just pointing out there is no pet diversity in pvp to a post saying there are a lot of ms pets. Everyone runs reban the mummy raptor or whatever new rodent comes out that patch (big eared mouse atm)
I kinda understand the observer removal thing. it actually is a pvp talent to use one of those and if the felhound has the same skin it can cause some legitimate confusion as to whether they’re running that talent or just using a glyph.
that would had more weight if you wasn’t literally the thing i’ve described.
If it’s really because of its butthole that’s somewhat funny but immature
I dont have any issues with them removing the Observer because it kinda makes sense? At first glance it looks like Darkglare and it can confuse people in a PvP scenario having two similar looking pets out and cant tell the difference between a cooldown and a regular pet in a split second.
But at the same time, Blizzard seems to be an avid L collector these days. Funny to see the forums on fire.
I mean we had a pixel lady that no one knew about or hardly cares about take ur pick there. An they turned her into a fruit bowl soooo
I still think that particular painting must’ve been known, internally, to depict a person in real life, because otherwise it makes zero sense they changed that one but not others.
