Why can’t we just update the Observer to look like this and keep it?

Maybe we could also get a little baby felpuppy and baby observer warlock pet skin <3

I would just echo what others have said: it’s not like we have anywhere close to the amount of hunter pets, so the reasons given are disingenuous. I’m sure the reason is because it’s easier to remove it than make it work with the new customizations coming. Really we should have several glyphs per demon.

My guess is that the real reason they are axing the Observer is so they can focus on Felhunter recolors/variants as customization options rather than having to answer calls for Observer customizations which is an entirely different model from the Felhunter and thus would split the work focus. If that’s even part of the reason they are removing the Observer, then the Shivarra might end up following the same fate as the Observer.

I do think it’s sad that the Observer is going away though. I prefer it to the Felhunter on my Warlocks. I’ll be happy if Blizz reconsiders and keeps it as a customization option, even if they never add new versions of it.

You shut your dirty mouth! Green fire is the only reason my lock exists!

As long as hunter pets exist this is complete nonsense reasoning.

Do these new customisation options mean I can have a Shivarra instead of a Felguard?

What an awful change. Does Blizz really imply arena players are so inept they can’t recognize what a pet does? Can the same players recognize what every Hunter pet does? Why is that OK?

I’ve been using the glyph since it came out and my Warlock even has an xmog themed around it. They need to find another solution rather than just knee-jerk content away from us.

Based on how it is, no and also they’d take away the Shivarra option that we already have

Yep. Apparently the different model for the cooldown ability somehow confuses my feeble minded, low IQ self so that I am incapable of playing the game without the removal of this pet. :upside_down_face:

Well, They might have gotten the idea that this is OK from the people demanding that they remove all forms of UI customization.

Of all the most brain dead things the warlock devs have put out recently, this takes the cake. Is this really where designers are spending their time? Taking away cosmetics that have existed for years?

Shall we go ahead and remove all hunter pets too while we’re at it?

If anything, there’s not enough customization. Bring on Armor Dye! Allow us to (within reason) adjust the height of our characters. More Skin colors; especially with Draenei Warlocks on the horizon, we could use a red skin tone for Draenei to complete the Warlock aesthetic!

Incredibly disappointing… I’m very unhappy about this. I love my observer and don’t want to lose it.

Honestly, given how much hunters forum whine about pets, not a bad idea.

There’s plenty of good reasons to tell blizz about how craptastic pets are. Many many players for many years have been bringing up the same issues and blizz does nothing.

Its not whining if we are offering up solutions to the problem.

I would have more respect for this change if they just admitted the truth, which is likely that they ran into some kind of bug and don’t want to fix it. Instead we get this nonsense about opposing PvP players being confused. First off, there is almost nothing I hate more in this game than PvE options and convenience being nerfed for PvP “balance”, and second of all, if you are a competitive PvP player who can’t figure out the Observer is a cosmetic skin for a Felhunter, after a DECADE, then you deserve whatever losses come your way. Of course, even as stupid as people can be, I don’t believe this hypothetical player even exists. Which is why this is such disingenuous BS.

I’d like to know the psychology behind why Blizzard thought this was a problem worthy of fixing, instead of focusing on the thousand other untouched bugs that have been reported as well as current problems with the game. Actual braindead change.

Yeah its just their usual tactic of shifting blame to a group of players they just made up to make us argue amongst ourselves and I’m glad its starting to lose its effectiveness finally. Can’t give trolls beards because some players might not like that. Can’t truly reforge WC3 because some players wont like that. Can’t do cross faction grouping properly because some people dont like that. Etc, etc.
