So, I’m a little confused. On the creation screen, warlocks have a very aggressive casting stance, but when I am in game, it’s not like that at all. I’m new to warlock. I have tried to level one for years but never get far and dropped the class but now I really want one. Pretty much for the transmogs. What can I say, I like to look good. I noticed someone asked about this awhile back but I thought I’d ask in case someone knows anything about this. To warlock players, is this stance only available for a certain spell(s) or spec? Thanks for any information.
No.

I thought I was missing something. I guess not. Well, thanks for letting me know.
Seems like the idle casting stance in-game is just the Mage’s version and the one on the character selection screen should be what Warlocks use:
Thanks for spreading awareness by sharing my forum post! Though the post will explain the situation in deeper detail, yes; both Mages and Warlocks share the same animation and there has been no clear reason as to why this is.
You are indeed missing something.
Back when Legion first came out, the classes got an overhaul through class identity to bring appearances at a more modern vibe. Unfortunately, of all the classes that were worked on, Warlocks got the short end of the stick and had no changes done to them during Legion due to time restraints (I believe).
When the BfA beta came out, the devs then had time to bring Warlocks up to par with the other classes. Some of the animations they intended to include wouldn’t completely be added in though, with one or two animation/spell styles added later in BfA. The major difference that separated class identity that is still data-minded in the game files, however, is the Warlock’s idle cast animation.
