Im sorry your spec got nerfed, maybe its time to swap to ele and actually learn how to play the game instead of just mashing your 1 shot macro in solo shuffle.

IMO Impish Instincts is pretty low on the list of problems with the game right now, it makes port a ~20 second cooldown if melee maintain full uptime, even less if the lock loses procs because of absorbs or is able to kite at all.

Could i t be that you don’t think it’s a problem because you play warlock? Wild theory i know. It’s very hard to remove your own biases to objectively evaluate problematic aspects of your spec. Last season ret players didn’t think judge dispel was a major problem even though it was an incredibly toxic talent. Now warlock players are unable to die unless against a handful of specs or they make major mistakes. They think it’s necessary to stay alive and make them viable but in reality it’s too much currently, especially when paired with soul burn. If soul burn had a icd on soul burn port where it could only be used every 30-45 seconds the talent would be fine but the ability to consistently use the combo whenever any trouble happens make it’s impossible for the warlock to ever die.

Locks can most definitely die even with impish instincts because melee have no issue maintaining uptime on warlocks. If melee had an issue maintaining uptime on warlocks then guess what? Impish instincts wouldn’t be proccing.

maybe if it’s a warrior or ret. You aren’t kiting a DH, monk, rogue or surv hunter (lol doesn’t even matter) for 30 seconds.
Just because your good at spec doesn’t mean your opinion can’t be wrong. It’s an opinion.
How so? Let’s give an example lets say your a ret you pop wings, but your a smart warlock so you wait till the real damage comes after they get 10 stacks and pop final reck. You soulburn port and pillar hump with the speedboost freedom. Ret horse freedoms after you, connects a couple seconds after lock freedom ends. Which means port gave you at least 8 seconds to avoid the melee. They get to you and you just simply gate away now. Takes another 6-8 seconds to reconnect then when they do final reck is down at this point so you can just pop pact and tank the rest of the damage and if it gets scary your ports back up because of impish now.
You can repeat this for most specs, short port at the very least allows you to completely avoid most big cd’s from specs. Port gate alone counters warrior warbreaker, the only specs that will instantly be able to reconnect are dh and ww. But even then because of soul burn they are going to use multiple globals still reconnecting and not having as much uptime. But they could generally do all this anyways without impish. All impish does is allow the warlock to just pop port willy nilly whenever they feel slightly threatened since it makes it such a short cd that it’s gonna be back up by the time they need it anyways.
