Bad Melee → Bad Caster but Good Caster → Good Melee.
All caster alts get run down no matter what caster you playing because a lot of the Meta Comps that people play are all centered around running at people with style. You actually better off just offspecing aff and playing splay or ele/lock because generally people wont actually run at you.

You can be brand new at the class, come in here asking for some tips or advice and get completely dumped on by everybody.
Often times most of the replies you’ll receive have nothing to do with your OP and instead are just people meming about “locks unplayable” etc or assuming things that are wrong about you.
Destro is probably the hardest of the three lock specs to pick up and do well at in low ratings right now.

That’s not what happens though.
What happens is people come here to complain about their already overperforming class. And so, other people rightfully try to educate them.
You might not always like the approach but the message is what I would categorize as advice.
Since your friend is a boomy, I’d say maybe dh or ww - mainly ww since dh is obviously rly simple and ww at least requires a bit of thought.
Probably ww’s best comp rn and it’s just a fun spec in general. The boomy is likely to get trained most games.
I think every caster tends to get trained because it’s stupid not to and let them freecast. It can be comp dependent though.
Necro feral def in that category. Thought I’d throw that out there as it’s not been mentioned yet. Spamable cc, 5 dots to manage, self healing galore, even ranged on interrupt.
