So I’m maining my Warlock going into 9.2 but I need something to play to balance out getting ran down by double digit IQ warrior/rets literally every match . Anything that’s as close to Warlock as possible. My friend is already a Balance druid or I’d maybe play that. Does anyone have suggestions? I’ll consider some melee as long as they don’t have the Frost DK/Arms warrior 15 button presses a minute playstyle.
Hunter is a solid choice
ya managing your three instant cast dots with 20 seconds durations requires the utmost awareness and talent
Warlock is borderline unplayable
a classic and iconic meme
lol so hard to press corruption, agony, unstable affliction, soul rot…deathbolt
then gate away or nightfae away and try it again until someone dies
while having 70k hp and a 50k shield
People don’t understand why warlocks get made fun of btw
Do warlocks rlly think they are countered by ret/warr? Is that like an actual thought? I always thought it was a troll, it’s not like ur turbo or unh tsg, which is actually countered by ret/warr lol.
Or are you just biting into the warlock player stereotype for the meme
Roll MM hunter or Fire Mage. You can look into elemental or shadow priest aswell. Are you looking to specifically counter warrior or?
All these people thinking I actually play affliction outside of world content lol. Destro btw so base your “just press 3 dots” on that
You just set yourself up for even more abuse buddy
Eh I asked for recommendations on other classes and got fair responses, ask on a lock and get replies like these so I mean there’s clearly a bias on the forums from years of lock demolishing them. If anyone denies that warlocks are the worst class to be trained on outside of maybe spriest then they’re just in denial
Bfa lock champ confirmed?
true, it couldnt possibly be you thats in denial
As someone who has pushed on a DK, Ret, War, whatever, I can assure you that Aff lock is 10x more braindead when it comes to actual gameplay. Just spam dots, kite, kite, kite, port, kite, kite, kite, gate, fear, kite, HRNNGDEATHBOLT, kite, dots, dots, kite… Yeah.
On the other hand, playing Demo into melee cleaves is a guaranteed way to reconsider my choice of spec when I get done queueing.
Aff isn’t that bad, you just need partners who can enable you to run away and literally do nothing.
Think that’s where I triggered allot of people, I said warlock instead of specifically saying destro so now they’re upset over deathbolt abusers and assume I’m one of them complaining about other classes. Demo and destro feel awful into anything melee, aff is good into most but I refuse to play that cheese since I can’t stand the spec in general.
Oh sorry, I just read through the replies and thought you were affliction. Moot post from me then.
Aff has felt horrible since the removal of soul swap and whatnot.
Destro has just been a weirdo spec to play since they made it into a turret in BFA.
Demo is not bad but requires you to really try your heart out when you know the melee zugging you is probably slouching super hard in the chair.
Pmuch why we see standard aff comps like splay and ele/aff basically be the entire representation of the spec in 3v3. Not sure if deathbolt gameplay enables them to play with other casters like boomies or frostmages, but I haven’t seen many aff locks not play deathbolt due to how nasty the dmg can be. Rot build probably works best w/ splay, but still I can’t say with certainty that its ideal for this meta just because of how easy recovery is for both hybrids and healers.
Play any caster and you’re gonna get run down every game. I’d say Shadow because it’s close to Aff with dots and tankier. Might as well be Demo with NL pet and Mindbender.
Frost Mage could be like Destro. They either go you and your partner blows them up or they go your partner and you blow them up.
Shadow has a lot of comps. Frost Mage does not.
Ye, SP is a really well rounded class with great defensives, utility, and is one of the few classes left in the game with a real skill cap that can make plays that actually matter and change the direction of the game.
Lock is just there to cover dispels, which most healers are not even afraid of for the majority of the game.
