Warglaives of Azzinoth

Yes please. My demon hunter doesnt even deserve the transmog.
My rogue farmed the glaives, my rogue did the timewalking raid and my rogue got the achievements.
My rogue should get the transmog.

I agree with making warglaives compatible with warriors and rogues.

I can transmog Sulfuras which was more of an enhancement shaman and Ret paladin weapon but if I want to show the warglaives I have to physically wear them? Super silly.

Can you imagine if blizzard make fist weapons only transmoggable for monks :weary:

Forget about the fact they are also still labelled as swords?

But the ‘warglaives’ are labelled as swords, they are not even glaives.

Not only CAN they change it so that others can equip Warglaives, the Warglaives of Azzinoth that drop are classified as Swords. The game already allows them to be equipped just fine, and for people to run around wielding them and not look awkward, just not through Transmog.

Warglaives aren’t even a “Demon Hunter” exclusive weapon in Warcraft’s history. They’ve been used by Elven NPC’s that qualify as Hunters or Warriors, as well as Trolls. You’ll note that Trolls have never had Demon Hunters. It makes perfect sense for Warriors, Rogues, potentially Hunters, even Monks to use Warglaives. It’s not like there’s anything stopping a Death Knight from creating some sort of Runed Warglaive either.

Paging Thunderfury, the pinnacle of stealthiness.

I know it doesn’t make sense

That’s why they made these the only legendary items to need to have the BT achievement done, so they can have a special glaive only version as the mog and wouldn’t have to change the OG items to glaives as that would have made a lot of people who have the items in their banks quite mad.

But in exchange, I want access to all the leather mogs out there pre-legion! If I want to run around in Bloodfang gear, so be it

Aside from Tier sets or similar, I’m pretty sure DHs can equip basically everything.

Death Knights even have a Brutal Gladiator set from BC even though they technically didn’t “exist” except in the pre-patch.

Which is why I mentioned “Bloodfang”, it is a teir set. And as DHs had no tier sets from that era, I think it is a good exchange

Seems like that was edited in cause it wasn’t in the post at the time I read it, but anyway - I’m not sure that’s really a trade. Death Knights don’t exactly have T3/T2/T5 either, nor do Monks have anything prior to Pandaria. Class sets were literally designed with the class in mind when it existed; the Warglaive justfication retro-actively being applied to a weapon doesn’t really fit in the same boat.

There’s also often re-colour or non-set versions of a lot of Tier sets. Bloodfang for example had an alternative colour set in BC:

That is fine but then I am back in the camp that only those who owned it pre-legion can get the mog. Otherwise it is DH only, as it is now.

Night elves with warglaives make complete sense to me.

Sentinels use them. The wardens use them.

It’s not like people can’t loot it now, so the “owned it pre-Legion” seems like a nonsensical limitation. Hell, to unlock the xmog for a Demon Hunter literally requires looting the Swords first.

it should be any class that can dual wield swords and have done all the necessary achievements to unlock the transmog.

No, I am agreeing that they shouldn’t lose something that they earned. I am fine with the current limitation, not the fact that those that earned them have lost them.

Anyone can still “earn” a Warglaive by going in on a Rogue, Monk, Warrior, Demon Hunter, or Death Knight, and looting it from Illidan Stormrage. It’s not particularly different from someone who looted it from Illidan Stormrage in Pandaria when Illidan was already more or less one-shottable by a level 90 (or at least one-combo through each phase).

No. It’s awkward. It’s always been awkward. They always looked weird on warriors and rogues. My guess is Blizzard thought the same.

To me, it’s exactly how it should be.

Clearly we have a different point of view on this, and that is fine. I don’t agree with yours and clearly you don’t agree with mine. Mine isn’t going to really change on this matter, I just didn’t like that those who earned them back in the day found it being removed.

But either way, I am perfectly fine with the current system. I have mine warglaives
