How’s those cata daggers working out for you?
Well i prefer playing outlaw, so not really. It was a fun little grind to do during the SL content draught though.
Wear what you like. I want my toons to be unique. They wear use what I have that looks good on them in my opinion.
No, the restriction is upon the actual transmog not the ability to get the glaives themselves. You can only use the transmog if you are a DH, that is where the restriction is. Now as I said I do agree that if you had them before they messed up and created this restriction, then you should still have access to the mog. So for example you would probably be grand fathered in because you had them before the change in Legion to make the mog DH only.
Blizzard painted themselves into a corner with this because they made the weapons “swords” at the time because glaive didn’t exist as a weapon type. Then when DHs came out, it didn’t make sense for non DHs to be running around with a classic DH weapon.
Personally I have never understood the love affair with them to begin with, I haven’t used the mog since probably BFA myself. The glaives just look bad when sheathed to me.
That’s not what I said.
I’m specifically talking about when legendary weapons in genral could not be transmogged in geneal.
Prior to shadowlands, you could not transmog any legendary items. With the exception being Warglaives of Azzinoth IF you got the feat of strength from TW Black Temple.
During shadowlands they opened up the ability to transmog every other legendary weapon for the classes that could originally use them. Shadowmourne on Ret, DK, and War. Thunderfury on all classes that can use one handed swords. Hand of Rag for Ret, DK, and war. So and so forth. This is true for EVERY SINGLE LEGENDARY WEAPON EXCEPT Warglaives of Azzinoth. There is no good reason for them to be DH only.
The issue isn’t that they can use them, its that it’s exclusive to them.
That’s BS. They didn’t even exist in TBC.
Exactly, I’m not trying to take away the mog from Demon Hunters. I’m just trying to wrap my head around why I can’t mog them on my rogue still. It doesn’t make any sense.
I say all legendaries should be able to be used by any class, except for bows (unless you’re a hunter). Doesn’t matter if 2-handed or not. This would ONLY apply to legendaries.
Weird take away but I like your energy
Bumping this thread because i want my mog pls.
What’s worse is those glaives are literally marked in game as swords, they are not even glaives, they can be equipped and used to their full effect, albeit very weak, but are still swords nonetheless.
I remember in BC when they were BiS for the likes of rogues and warriors, but years later because Blizzard added DH as a class they made these swords transmog only for DH.
It would have been easy to solve the problem. They should have keep the transmog for the sword versions in game, then removed the sword version from the loot pool and added in the glaive version. Then anyone who had them before hand would still be able to use them but going forward they would be considered glaives and thus those would only be for DHs.
I think the real issue for Blizzard was they really didn’t like the idea of non DHs running around with a classic DH weapon. But in reality I bet less than 1% of the player base actually had them to begin with.
Aren’t the cata daggers rogue only?
That’s what I’m sayin man! I just want to mog my trusty old warglaives while i play outlaw. I don’t think I’m asking for much.
Not entirely sure, but that doesn’t matter in regards to the topic because Warglaives of Azzinoth used to be class locked to rogue and warrior. So even by that metric, I should be able to use the mog based on the current rules for legendary weapons from previous expansions. I think the ulduar mace is locked to healing classes too but i don’t know for sure. Thunderfury seems to be the main exception you can use that on anyone that uses swords.
OK well rogues got the daggers, DH got the glaives. Case closed.
I’m okay with them being locked to DH but it feels like Warriors got the shaft in all of this.
I think there should be a legendary shield in the future that does insane reflect damage or something cool like that.
I had NINE offhands before I finally got my mainhand.
Pallies rubbing their hands together while reading this post.
