Warglaives of Azzinoth are not transmoggable

I say that they just fix the problem by allowing the classes that can wield it to be able to obtain the transmog from the timewalking item, such as allowing rogues to use the item as well as demon hunters.

My DH doesnt even deserve the transmog, my rogue did all the work; farmed the drops, did the quest and got the Achievement. If anything my rogue should get the transmog and my DH should have to do the achieve herself.

So for ppl who got these and used them back in BC when they were current they are screwed . You could have had these on rogue or warrior for the last 13 years or so but to bad.

 What a load of B.S.

Blizzard is worthless for doing the right thing, or making sure that players (like us) who’ve spent countless hours, days, weeks, months, years farming up those two weapons can be well rewarded with more than just…an achievement. “We’re going to let you transmog Legendaries!” Sweet! “But not this one. this one is locked behind a TW event that happen once every double blue moon, and only ONE CLASS CAN GET IT NOW” then what the hell is the point you worthless slobs??? ION, YOU’RE AN IDIOT. AND SO IS YOUR WHOLE TEAM. Bring back Ghostcrawler. At least his hate for Pallies was a running gag, and he was likeable. This is the kind of stuff that made metzin and mike leave.

I’m hoping we get a reply or acknowledgement this whole situation stinks.

This is an excellent point. Same here. My rogue farmed the glaives starting in BC (finally got the second one in Cata). My rogue even ran TWBT to get the achievement so that my DH could use them. The work was put in on my rogue.

Compromise: If the issue is the effort put in, allow anyone who has put in the bulk of the effort of farming the glaives to obtain the transmog from TWBT. There is no good reason not to do this. The majority, I’d wager, of demon hunters got the transmog from another class having the glaives.

The only other thing I can think of is that they’re concerned about the weapons being too big and flashy. Did someone say Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker?

You want to know the real kicker to it all? I can’t even use the legendary daggers as Outlaw because you still can’t mog swords, et al into daggers. I can’t equip them and use all of my abilities, even. They want me to be okay with not being able to use Warglaives? Fix these issues.

They did acknowledge it. Right in the patch notes. People just don’t like what it says.

Many legendary weapons are now transmogrifiable.

Developers’ note: The Warglaives of Azzinoth dropped from Illidan in Black Temple are the one exception, as a custom method for Demon Hunters in particular to obtain this transmog appearance already exists through Black Temple Timewalking, and we do not want to diminish the value of that unique reward.

Guess I should rephrase.

Their decision is wrong, and they should change it.

I think it’s fine the way it is. Opinion is opinion.

Oh hell yes.
I see a lot of people running around with TF.
I take satisfaction in knowing I got mine pre BC, when it was an actual thing, and felt legendary.

The Warglaives were wielded long before Demon Hunters came out, this isn’t an opinion piece it’s just illogical. Wrong.

I didn’t say that other classes having used them in the past was opinion. The statement that you think it’s the wrong decision that only Demon Hunters get them now is opinion.

Nice grasping at straws but no, I actually had my water strider in MoP before it became meta because the ability to walk on water was just obviously good. So I forced myself to do fishing.

For reference, I’m a person that believes in earning. I don’t support Mage Tower coming back to cater to people too incompetent to do it when it was relevant. I don’t support challenge mode sets or items returning for that same reason. I was also very vocally against the idea of reusing the old Vanilla pvp titles for RBGs.

However this is quite a leap you’ve made in all honesty. Hope you don’t dislocate your shoulder reaching this hard.

An opinion backed up by logic, similar items, and pointing out the fact that opinion supporting for this exclusivity decision has no ground to stand on, it’s weak, illogical, and wrong.

For example, if the Achievement is what’s gating the appearance for Demon Hunters make it a Feat of Strength or just make it so other classes have to earn it to wield it.

There are so many solutions to this half-baked one we were given.

Time gated rewards vs class fantasy gated reward

Can you spell false equivalence?

I proudly wear my Hand of A’dal title because you couldn’t get it unless you were so far along in the quest anyway after TBC. Getting the vials was that bottleneck and that was the hard part, Rage Winterchill in Hyjal was a complete joke of a boss.

I used to use my Undying title or Twilight Vanquisher until I saw more people with it and realized they were all doing it when ICC was current content and still getting the title, greatly diminishing the difficulty of it. I used Starcaller and Astral Walker too until pugs began trouncing him with ICC gear for next to no difficulty.

Still kind of irks me though that Blizzard likes to pick and choose very small things that they pretend to care about “diminishing the achievement of”. How many people are running around with “The Chosen” title when Antorus was almost over? I got mine in a pug just to prove a point to a friend of mine that tried arguing “It’s still very hard to get!” and we one shot it.

Have a legendary that at most like 8 people on a server would ever have before TBC? Eh that’s not really an achievement so anyone can still get it. Oh cheese a boss fight by supremely outgearing it and still getting the title and rewards? Yeah that’s perfectly fine, it’s not really a hard achievement. Oh you did 3 dragon Sartharian before Ulduar? Well, now ICC geared pugs can pop bloodlust and zerg him down before the first dragon lands, it’s still just as much of a challenge, right?

Oh you ran Timewalking Black Temple that’s easy as all hell? Oh well NOW we care about not diminishing that specific achievement. But don’t worry, all the Mythic boss titles are still in the game when groups trounce them in one minute an expansion after the fact.

Like I said, people simply didn’t like what they said. That’s fine, you don’t have to like it.

I have both glaives on multiple toons and use them in Timewalking. I have the appearance for my Demon Hunters and I don’t use it. I have no problem with the decision Blizzard made regarding them.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter whether we like it or not. They made their decision and they’ll likely stand by it for several years to come before finally letting the appropriate classes use them.

As was shown by this patch, or rather the entire expansion.

They can make very, very bad and wrong decisions.

Whatever you do should not be the basis for everyone else, this exclusivity is a terrible outcome and should be changed.

You don’t seem to have a problem with their decision because you really don’t seem to care about the warglaives themselves.

Personally, as an Outlaw rogue they’re the only legendary I can use. I’d like to be able to use them (or they can fix my daggers so I can use those, I’ll accept that also).

However, I think the issue a lot of people have is that this announcement was not made until very recently, when the announcement that they were making legendaries moggable falsely led people to believe that all legendaries would be usable. Had they announced immediately that warglaives would NOT be transmoggable, this would be different. However, they let people invest time and effort into obtaining them for this reason only to jerk the rug out from under their feet at the last minute. It’s deceptive, and no doubt they gained financially from this deception from people buying game time to farm legendaries pre-8.3.

I’ve personally had them for a very long time so I don’t fall into this category, but I do understand the frustration of the people who are in this situation. Admittedly, moggable legendaries was a small reason I resubscribed. I have them all, so no farming required, but I was looking forward to using them. Now finding out that I can use none of the legendaries for my main spec (despite being able to equip four of them) is annoying.

They have definitely made a mistake. Whether the mistake is not allowing them to be transmogged by everyone or not announcing that immediately is up for debate. One of those two things is a mistake, no question.

I wouldn’t have farmed the set out multiple times if I didn’t care about them.

You know they changed the way the originals look when Demon Hunters got them as a transmog, right? They don’t sheathe correctly anymore and it looks awful. I wouldn’t want to transmog that, it looks like I don’t know how to carry my weapons.
