As a trans guy. I think its a nice start. ( I mean post shadowlands stuff since dragonflight is mostly danuser )

First times are awkward with everything. But progress is better than nothing at all

You’re so evolved

I’ve given example but whatever, you feel attacked.

Remember, gang, if it fits your preconceived notions and you like it, it’s “great story telling”, and if it doesn’t fit your preconceived notions or you don’t like it, it’s “shallow pandering”.

Didn’t there used to be a forum where we could tell stories like this?

No wonder Azeroth is constantly in pieces.

Dragons are more worried about what mortal form they’ll be.

So many people here love to bully and insult Steve Danuser and yet you all can’t seem to write your own story and show for it. And have the audacity to call out someone who can write a narrative arc and why Steve Danuser couldn’t do better in shadowlands it’s because the CONCEPT of the story wasn’t HIS to begin with.

How about this if “x” was the original writer and was fired for “y” offense and someone took his or her place and took over his or her story and have to come up with a story to finish and conclude it and so Steve just conclude it in a way they was deemed possible and felt rushed THATS because he had only a limited amount of time.

You think Steve Danuser can’t write a story. Your type of people love to spit on Steve when he wasn’t the one who wanted to do the shadowlands to begin with but sure attack him and throw whatever insults at him just like those people that love to bully Steve Danuser.

Because unless you were willing to pay $40 or so you wouldnt be able to read the full story? So for most of WoW’s players this is “new”.

Are you referring to Wyverns End Tavern RP forum? It’s still there if you’re wondering… no idea if it’s active though.

Ehh, skimming over while reading bits and bobs from work and now, it’s decent. Not really my thing, but i’m glad it exists for people who likes this. :+1:

That he’s better short story writer then a game writer?

They can’t be that concerned given they’re doubling down on torturing the Night Elves at every opportunity.

I really enjoyed this story, I hope there will be lots more like this in the future. :sparkling_heart: :sparkling_heart: :sparkling_heart:

It was a cute story…

The writer is a little children’s booky but it was cute.

This was a great representation for trans people tho. Its a simple clean story that makes sense.

If you are calling this story… that you didn’t have to read… and that you could already tell what if was about by the title … preachy /forced/ pandering

You are just a phobe… cuz you could have minded your own business and kept it pushing

  1. Choosing to be a gnome was Chronormu’s personal choice, and was decently explained within the context of the story.
  2. Choosing a female form was also Chronormu’s personal choice, and had absolutely zero explanation, foreshadowing, or buildup to support its inclusion in the story.

What I offered was a half-baked attempt to show-case how the decision to choose a female form could’ve had at least some measure of depth. Even a half-baked attempt would’ve been better than leaving it as—an obnoxious show of tokenism.

The first paragraph can be confirmed through an objective observation of Warcraft’s lore up until the point that the events when Chronormu’s Visage Ceremony takes place. The only genuinely notable female “mortal” characters are Tyrande Whisperwind, Queen Azshara (both Night Elves), and possibly Aegwynn (former Guardian of Tirisfal). Virtually every other mortal (or “mortal”) of wide-spread notoriety in historical WoW lore is male.

And if you find a female mechagnome pre-mechagon era, feel free to let me know. Part of Gnome “lore” is to not have a lore because they don’t keep history very well (or at all).

The second paragraph is a feeble attempt to provide some depth on Chromie’s answer where previously there was none:

The story itself admits that while Chronormu provided very thoughtful reasoning on his decision to become a gnome, there is virtually nothing in the story to support the decision to be female. NOTHING.

Does Chronormu have to have a reason for his decision to be female in his visage form?

No.

Is it possible to respect his decision even if no reason is provided?

Yes.

Is it in-character for Chronormu to make a permanent decision like this seemingly on a whim?

NO.

It’s poor writing. Few things tarnish a fictional character more than transforming them into a vehicle for tokenism.

Just FYI, it is an extract from a children book

No idea why that isn’t made clearer till you download the PDF
