Warcraft Rumble is overperforming WoW in playercount

Yup there it is, Warcraft Rumble the newly made mobile game is more appealing to audiences than WoW.

“According to AppMagic, Warcraft Rumble has generated over $3.4 million on iOS and Android since November 2.”

“This is revenue from in-app purchases reduced by platform fees and inclusive taxes.
Since its global launch, Warcraft Rumble has reached 2.56 million downloads globally.”

Oh – maybe I should give this a try. I need another mobile game since I get bored with PokemonGo.

Let’s ignore the fact that WoW’s player count is completely unknown for a moment and consider this. Warcraft Rumble is FREE TO PLAY. Of course its player count is going to be really high. StarCraft 2 had a huge surge in players when it went F2P. Woah, what a concept, free games are appealing.

Nice troll post though.

mobile games are more predatory in monetization. WoW’s appeal is its affordability.

Warcraft Rumble sucks. You’ll try it out, and think it’s actually pretty good, then you’ll eventually cave and spend $100 in it, then you’ll come to the ultimate realization that actually it sucks.

you think 3.4 million is a lot? You realize that WOW classic is like 100 million a month in subscriptions right?

So? It’s new. Everything new gets a ton of players. It’ll be deserted in a few months.

Mobile games are garbage. After spending $$$ they corral you into spending more $$$. And more and more and more. They’re all like that because that’s how they’re designed.

Not even sure why anyone bothers “trying” a mobile game.

It’s not for poors, its great for riches not rags

I don’t know why people are so willing to spend such large amounts of money on p2w cellphone games. They are all trash.

Mobile gaming is far more popular than pc gaming.
everyone from age 6 to 60 can easily access phone games but this isn’t the same deal for pc games.

if warcraft rumble was a pc game it wouldn’t even get to be played at all :stuck_out_tongue:

for example: look at pubg when it first got released on PC it wasn’t famous or anything but then when they released it on phones…it get a massive significant player base.

many phone games are so fun and people pay to save time, that’s the same deal as what people do in wow…they pay to save time “this is why tokens exist & this is why gdkp’s are massive because people want to pay $$ to secure the loot upon drop” & btw…there are asian mmo-rpg phone games that makes wow looks like trash next to them.

If you’re willing to spend real money to skip playing the game, then that says something about the game.

you mean the Vessel of Hatred whoops that’s to be an expansion.

AAA game studios are learning they can sell an unfinished game, not finish it then release expansions/dlc for more $$$ it’s sickening

old browser games were more fun than 99% of mobile games out there, the 1% that are fun for more than 20 minutes or until the first Ad, were mostly browser games in the 90’s that ported to mobile… lets not even get into comparing it to the average indie game, or better, on steam which are way more fun to play for any length, without the predatory monetization.

the worst part is, it’s the publishers for mobile games that push this predatory monetization. the dev of Vampire Survivors posted it in his steam update/news section, he tried to release the port of the game for a low price and couldnt’ find a publisher that would accept it without adding a ton of monetization that he didn’t want in his game, to sum it up anyways. apparently its near impossible to find a publisher for mobile games that wont’ force the dev to ruin their games with this nonsense.

meanwhile, we have blizzard that willingly does it to their own games…

that depend on how you define “skip playing”
let me say example:
-do you level mining and blacksmith to craft the items you want to use by yourself? or do you go buy them from Auction house? do you farm your own boe’s u need or buy from ah? do you level herb and alchemy and craft your own flasks & pots or you buy them from auction house?

ofc you buy most of what you need from auction house…consumables / gems / enchants / boe…etc

can i tell you “OMG you’re not playing the game” because you’re skipping lots of steps when you simple buy from ah? as you haven’t working by yourself on your own items?

you might say But i farmed my own gold…LOL you are In a game that sell gold called “tokens” where tons of people just pay $$$ to skip many steps in the game and you’re playing this game  so why are you trying to look down on phone games when it’s almost the same as the game you’re playing right now “wow”

Playing a game doesn’t mean you must do everything from scratch, to some degree None of us fully playing any game, we all do w/e we can to skip some parts and we can have ultimate fun playing the game without missing anything, the same as when you buy boe from wow AH…u didn’t miss out something because u didn’t farm that BOE on your own for xxx hours.

Well the obvious difference is that most free to play games actively design the game such that you have to spend those $$ as there is no reasonable in game way to do things yourself.
