Warcraft Direct: When Something Is Wrong, You Make It Right

Guild bank logs may only be partial lists of what was there but they couldn’t even be bothered to restore stuff on those logs. So I’m inclined to think they just didn’t want to put in the time and effort to make things right as everything I saw posted was minimal items like crafting reagents and only a few stacks of items total from full banks that were emptied.

People did NOT lose the Phylactery in the guild bank bug since it was bind on pickup. No way to put it in a guild bank.

Are people not held accountable for mistakes where you work? Again this isn’t just a minor bug / glitch , it’s one of the worst bugs to hit live servers.

i said people “lost items LIKE phylactery”.

i never said anyone lost phylactery specifically.

i couldnt think of any other rare collectible at the moment… i used an example of a rare collectible…

In that same sense majority of rare collectibles were still BoP so still couldn’t be put in a guild bank.

mature blue dragon sinew - there you go, that’s an example of a rare BoE collectible… satisfied?

removed from the game on the release of cata pre-patch when Azuregos was taken out of Azshara.

I’m sorry I created this post. I was angry and frustrated about the missing items, but I should not have let my feelings take over.

I want to apologize, and if anyone was upset over something I posted I regret that.

Ultimately I want Blizzard to be successful the players to enjoy the game. I don’t think this post contributed to anything positive. I will work harder to control my emotions.

What I don’t get is that y’all Blizz white knights will flag and laugh at a thread like this, basically saying haha on you OP Blizz lies, you should know that, but when someone is like her they just made this statement I don’t really trust them, suddenly they are an honest (but tiny and resource-starved) company doing whatever they can.

Some blizz employee referencing WC3 Refunded:

WC2 remastered: doesn’t animate the animated fireplace in WC2 OG story prologue.
:joy:
Can’t make this stuff up.

No need to apologize.

This is a legitimate response to them making a comment like that in light of the significance of their error, and their inadequate handling of it.

They don’t make it even bigger to match our 36 slot bags and it has been over a decade, which tells me something else is wrong with the code being used–which goes all the way back to the Warcraft III kernel.

Simple. The short term log us players can see shows if an item or gold was removed. My mind would be blown if they simply don’t have longer form logs.

And before I get a response of “the Data was lost or corrupted”

They don’t say what data was lost. They don’t mention logs at all. They don’t say how some items were able to be recovered and others werent. Do they not push these game altering updates to test servers first? Do they not have, or have the ability to, temporarily, roll back servers? Or even pull past snapshots for more accurate lists of missing items?

This could not be any more relevant. Pushing game breaking bugs and 90$ macrotransactions along side oneanother. Disregarding someone’s argument entirely for that statement shows nothing but pure contempt for the playerbase, if not the betterment of the game itself.

I HIGHLY doubt they would put themselves in the position of not having any recourse of backup. If they did, that is a really stupid thing to do.

Nigerian Prince Blizz emptied my guild bank account made a general reply that some will get something, I got nothing, come on Blizzard “Make Azeroth Great Again”

I thought the same thing. As people pointed out it was not someone from the WoW team which shows they have the wrong people working on WoW. For WoW it seems to be “When something is wrong, You change the definition of right.”

What if this incident was intended and purposeful to destroy accounts that were selling on third-party website for thousands of dollars?

A simple google search will show that there are organization doing it.

Maybe innocent accounts are being sacrificed to damage the outside organization? What best way to do it when there is a decline in players and subscription, right?

Did they even say sorry? That might be a good start…

Even if it’s just going to be a BP oil “We’re sorry”

I’m not sure if Blizzard will actually apologize, especially after seeing how many players rushed to buy the $90 dino mount. It reminds me of when the first cat mount was released in Shadowlands expansion right after the lawsuit, and suddenly everyone had one. It’s pretty telling that most players seem totally fine with the damage being done and they’re content with what’s being presented to them on the surface.

I am a 66 year old granpa who plays wow with his grandkids, our guild bank was wiped clean, I do not sell on third party websites for thousands of dollars, so your first statement is WRONG.

You may be an innocent account just like many of us. Also, sorry that happened to you because you don’t deserve what happened and Blizzard didn’t apologize to you either.

However, it doesn’t mean what I asked make no sense when there are facts on third-party websites. It could be one of the factors that could be contributed to why this incident happened. After all, those organization or business are making thousands of dollars just selling accounts. It is just be unfortunate that many innocent accounts also got wiped away in the process.

With that said, my point still stand.

Is unreliable, buggy and is not something usable.

As to this:

It doesn’t. Whatsoever.

Some have even quit the game because of it. That’s not contentment. That’s resignation and cutting their losses.

This is now becoming the dust of a dead horse.

This has zero to do with what happened to the guild banks. It was a bug due to Warbands.
