Warcraft Direct: When Something Is Wrong, You Make It Right

Is this going to cut into Plunderstorm and Legion: Remix development?

Joking aside that quote was from the lead for the remastered older games right? Too bad they didn’t get Holly or Johanna to say those words on the video. Then you might have a chance.

They couldn’t figure out what was lost or they would’ve fixed it. What were they supposed to do, give every guild bank 1M gold?

they say a lot of things that sound good and then never apply it.

first time?

it’s kinda like when i told that girl i liked to do groceries as a couple but really i’d actually rather stay home and play vidya games.

I would add “when it’s financially beneficial” in front of that statement.

They literally can’t. The quote that you yourself quoted says that they can’t.

There are no backups, there are no logs. They’ve done what they can.

Y’all are really gonna have to get over this or quit. There’s nothing else that can be done at this point.

I TOO can capitalize RANDOM words to make my post seem like it HAS a point.

How sad. How incompetent. How embarrassing.

Be that as it may, there’s nothing that can be done about it now.

Why no logs?

Why no backups?

Why no snapshots?

They’ve already said the data isn’t recoverable.

What would be an alternative solution to restoration you’d want? Or were you just wanting to beat the dead horse a bit?

They said when something is broken you fix it. They didn’t say “when something has disappeared you conjure back into existence with magic”.

some people lost items like Kel’thuzad’s phylactery from Vanilla wow that became unobtainable when WoTLK was released.

you can’t quantify items like that in terms of gold.

It was tested. It was byproduct of Warbands going live. Unforseen things happen.

Also: your quote was from the RTS dev team.

They did. It’s over. It’s done. The bug was fixed. The items are gone.

This is now just beating a dead horse. In bold and caps.

There is no way to do this. And you literally linked the post telling you that.

Geebus move on. I did. And I lost an entire tab of unobtainable items.

What does it do?

search it on wowhead.

I think it’s moreso that they don’t want to spend the likely massive amount of money and labor necessary to comb through the data/logs, rather than just simply not having the data.

Remember when they said they couldn’t increase the backpack size because they couldn’t find the code for it? Well we got a bigger bag if you use the authenticator

Seems like it doesn’t do anything. That flavour text is hilarious though, considering.
