War Within Intro Scenario Skip

Days ago after logging in I was given the War Within quest to go see Thrall in Silithus, so naturally I did it.

Now on early access launch day I find out that this is the quest that allows you to skip the lengthy War Within Scenario quest once you have completed it on one toon.

So my question is, is there any way to get this quest back? I really don’t want to do the intro scenario on all my alts. Seems like they should just have the standard skip text after you do it once, not some crazy quest you can accidently do.

Frustrated.

You can take the dor portal in SW I did it on one of my toons. Not sure how it impacts the story though

EDIT!!! Thrall is in the room with Khadgar you can still talk with him and skip!!

I took the portal. Where is “the room” you speak of?

where is the portal? sorry I don’t know what SW is

Well for me at least Thrall in Dalaran does nothing more than give me some flavor dialogue.

I went to Silithus and it is still phased to back in the day so no Thrall there.

After 30 minutes of fighting to try and find a way to submit a ticket I basically had to submit a ticket under technical issues because every other issue just ran me in circles to help pages.

I got a cut and paste response on the ticket giving me a link back to the help pages, so I again told them the issue and resubmitted the ticket.

I saw an article on Icy Veins with screen shots that shows that Thrall in Silithus has a quest skip option.

I went to one of my toons that still had the scroll, went to Silithus talked to Thrall, no option to skip, even thought I have done the intro twice.

This leads me to believe that the skip has either been disabled, or that it will not be enabled until the official launch on the 26th.

Either way this was very poor communications on Blizzards part, when you get a quest you do a quest, you don’t wait.

A blue response would be appreciated to clarify, as it appears support has washed its hands of me.

Thanks

I also would like to know. I did the intro quest on all (literally) 37 of my level 70 alts.

I encountered the bug where you don’t get credit for killing the boss in the prepatch event (which I now know is unrelated), which I thought at the time was because of not having done this intro quest. So I did it on literally every one of them.

I do not have it in me to have to do the Dalaran battle over and over again. I’m still sad about the events.

This!!! Thank you!!

If anyone is still looking-- I believe they mean the room in Dalaran in the center, when you use the TP thing to go down. I’m guessing Horde speak to Thrall, and Alliance speak with Jaina. Thrall had the skip for me even though I started the quests in Dalaran. All the prepatch quests were completed, though-- wonder if that makes a difference?

This did not work for me when I talked to Thrall in Dalaran he gives me nothing. And that toon has completed all pre patch quests.

LOL this is all well and good. I have done all those steps, used the scroll, gone to Thrall, progressed to the exact stage of that quest “A Poor Reception” and nothing. No skip text as shown in the screen shot. And I have completed the intro to the Isle of Dorn on two toons now, and I have all my others at 70, some have leveled purely with memories so I have no quests completed at all, but when I progress to Thrall, nothing.

This is why I need clarification, is that feature not active in pre release?

EDIT: Okay well I think I found the issue, it says you must reach level 80 to get the skip, as far as I remember you never had to be max level to skip intros before, am I remembering that wrong. Oh well this sucks as they give you a way to level 1000 alts to 70 then want to force you to level one to 80 before moving any others to the expantion.

Which is why I posted that link for you, so you can better understand, yes you must hit 80 first before you can do the skip. As frustrating as it may be, they cant just hand out all the easy ways to skip lol gonna work for it somehow. :joy:

Sadly I think its one of those “Once you started the quest and not select the skip option you have to do it” I’ve reached 80 on 2 so far and have yet to see that option so there has to be something I’m missing somewhere. So as of right now flying around and checking to see if there’s any missed quests that LOOK important or if its mainly just doing the entire campaign. Really hoping its the latter, but if push comes to shove most likely finishing the campaign is key as it is with most any content.

So after looking further into the matter it appears that you need to have 2 level 80 toons for this skip to be active. =)

Edit: Also one must have completed the entire campaign on a single toon

Since there’s a ton of misinformation here.

You can skip the campaign by talking to Thrall in Silithus if you have not completed any of the quests that take you to Dalaran.

You do not need to be max level.

You do need to complete the MSQ up to the point where we are locked in the pre-access.

If you have started the quests and do not want to do the Dalaran quests, you can just take the portal in the lower section of the Orgrimmar portal room, or the upstairs section of the Stormwind portal room.

FROM MY EXPERIENCE LEVELING 3 CHARACTERS

You are not restricted from doing anything if you have started the quests and just decide to portal to the new zone instead. You still have access to everything, and nothing is blocked out.

This is after I completed the MSQ on one character, but I did not finish leveling it before bringing my alts over via the skip, and the ones that were already mid-quest I just brought here via the portal.

Cheers!

Here’s a small album of images that help understand the process, this is done on a level 70 alt with zero quest content done.

There’s got to be something else that triggers it. I have three characters through the intro, and my timerunners are at the exact point in the pictures and nothing.

Getting real annoying to try and figure something this simple out.

Hey =D so ive returned with a much better response. After countless quests and many other side things lol its been determined. In order to Skip the whole Dalaran quest for any alt you decide to level you must:

  1. Have a toon at level 80
  2. Have that same level 80 toon complete the entire Campaign story line thus unlocking adventure mode

So much like BFA, Shadowlands, and DF unlocking adventure mode is key to getting the ability to skip that tedious dalaran storyline quest. You dont need 2 toons to level 80 you only need ONE (that was the only misinformation that was given).

You do not need a toon at 80, you just need to complete the campaign story.

In order to skip the ENTIRE thing (entry story) you need to have completed it and leveled a toon to 80 (the one you wish to skip on) where you will be given the option to skip everything, including the zone-related questing.

If you have already started the questing and don’t want to finish it, you need to have the above requirements.

To skip specifically the Dalarn quest arc and get into the new zone, you just need to complete the main story on one character, you do not need to be level 80 on it.

Not sure why everyone is making this so confusing and difficult. This works:

  1. Hit 80 and finish campaign
  2. Log alt, get The War Within quest on log in
  3. Click “Teleportation Scroll”
  4. Turn in quest to Thrall
  5. Talk to Thrall again and select skip to Dornogal

Once there you select a zone to level in just like previous xpacks. World quests are available.

Hope this helps.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. <3
