War Within Class Tuning Incoming – September 3

They may as well delete Rogues from the game at this point.

If the only purpose of AS is to build CC charges, than i think it will still be fine actually. I was able to get up to 4 almost 5 seconds routinely. So 3 to 4 should okay imo

Sunfury does need nerfs, but removing double dipping by spell queueing is not one of them. You’re changing the playstyle that people enjoy as opposed to nerfing the damage itself to be more in line with other damage specs.

This is the same complaint players had with the original removal of double dipping Nether Precision procs and it was reverted because of community feedback. I think this forum thread is proof enough that the community does not want to see the Burden of Power double dipping removed, but instead nerfing something like Spellfire Spheres % and Mana Cascade %.

Enh Shaman just became barely playable. Oh, well. Back on the “may delete” list.

Wow I was not expecting to see Balance nerfs in with a few buffs that’s wild.

We went from a 30-sec CD with Living bomb, to Lit Fuse proc, to a 64% damage nerf, to a 30% buff.

The first version of living bomb was fine – 8 sec CD AoE ability. I’m convinced they have no idea what they’re doing with it.

How does arcane miss a nerf being the best dps spec in the game… lmao but fdk gets nerfed

Of course mage cant ever be nerfed…

Yeah. Cause mages can’t get nerfed.

Those buffs are not enough to make Pack Leader competitive with Dark Ranger for BM.

Also it does nothing to work towards the problems BM is having with AoE. You need to work on tuning/changing Basilisk Collar and undo the base kit nerfs so we can be at least OK in dungeons. Most of the time unless I use my 2 min CD, I’m under the tank in damage in dungeons. I’ve never had this happen before playing BM. Please focus on the actual problem for BM, Blizz.

instead of tuning the numbers for sunfury arcane, you decide to change how the specc plays and remove some of the gameplay that was fun.

Amazing job.

Please consider reverting the removal of the Burden of Power double dip. We love the pacing of the SF-Arcane rotation, and this change takes away a lot of the fun. Additionally, please revert the duration nerf on Arcane Soul; 2 seconds is simply too short. There must be another way to balance the spec without impacting the fun factor, not just the numbers.

If you struggle in the open world… man, idk, I honestly feel bad for you

The Burden of Power change for Sunfury is by FAR the worst way to nerf the spec.
There are so many knobs you could turn to achieve numerical balance. Mana Cascade in particular is quite an extreme outlier. Please revert this and tune the outliers, the spec was feeling very fun to and clean to play, and now its an absolute mess.

Furthermore, this buff to living bomb still won’t make it playable. Fire tuning is lower than you seem to think it is.

Can we please do something about Monk’s critical lack of utility? Mystic Touch does nothing especially with how dominate magic damage dealers are.

Can monks get back avert harm or some other raid utility? That or make our dps/hps top tier.

Did you not read any of the post before yours? Arcane is getting a huge nerf to the point where it may not even be fun to play let alone much worse damage. SS is already not competitive, it has just been SF this whole time

This is a repeat of a supposed fix regarding double dipping with Nether Precision. The decision to revert that supposed fix was made after many feedback posts asking for it to be reverted.

Hello Arcane Mages!

We’ve been closely watching Arcane, and in particular, the discussion around the most recent change to fix the ability to double-dip on the last charge of Nether Precision with Arcane Barrage.

While opinions on this change have not been unanimous, it’s true that the existence of this bug does deepen the rotational gameplay of Arcane. Given the current state of Arcane and our vision for the spec in The War Within, we’re opting to revert our bug fix for now and allow players to continue to double-dip on the last stack of Nether Precision.

You should see this change on the Beta in the coming days.

As always, thank you for your continued feedback!

Why are we here again? If spell queueing that allows double dipping with buffs is enough of an issue that it gets targeted to be fixed not just once but twice, then why is this not being addressed across the entire game? Why is it being focused on here considering that one instance of making this kind of targeted change to spell queueing was met with such negative feedback that the suggested change was reverted.

This change changes the conditions with how we use Burden of Power in a very similar way to how a previous proposed change would have affected how we used Nether Precision.

The previous proposed change regarding double dipping Nether Precision with spell queueing that was reverted affected a base arcane playstyle option that would have been gone if the change went through.

This change to Burden of Power affects that same playstyle in a very similar way that is currently supplemented by the Sunfury Hero talents. It would put the base playstyle option (that was preserved by the reverting of a similar change) at odds with the Sunfury Hero talents. One supported by double dipping with spell queueing and one not. This would make playing Sunfury Arcane Mage confusing and more difficult.

Every mage spec uses spell queueing in some way. Arcane Mages use it as their skill expression to maximise the use of the buffs they track. Fire and Frost mages use it in their own way for their skill expression of their spec.

Please stop singling out Arcane’s use of it as some kind of bug that needs to be fixed and revert the change to Burden of Power. If the issue is the amount of damage it adds to arcane then there are different ways to address that issue than the one stated. It will have a negative effect on Sunfury Arcane Mage as a whole.

Edit to add the blue post about reverting the Nether Precision change as forum link shows Page Not Found, and to fix typos

I wasn’t doing any weird double dipping and the spec still felt fun

That’s fine if you don’t have any interest in optimizing your damage at all

Stop soft capping specs that already struggle in mass pulls ffs.
