War Within CE Statue installation

This seems very stupid, but I can’t seem to get the rider to fit on the base. I’ve tried for 20 minutes, it simply doesn’t fit. Anyone figure out a trick to get this to actual fit properly?

I don’t have one, but another player recently posted that they were able to put it together. Quoting that person now so hopefully the forums will let alert them and they can have a peek here.

Oh, hello there.

No, I am not General Kenobi.

I did however manage to put the statue together, yes. It took me a bit, but one thing I did was essentially change the way I ‘thought’ the statue would fit together and just made sure to line up all the plugs with the holes, even if it didn’t look like the statue should go together that way and it ended up fitting together well enough (some of the pieces do have small gaps).

Now that could just be my statue, mind you, your statue could be different due to moulding lines. If it absolutely will not fit because the plugs are too large for the holes, then you could try using a file to remove some of the moulding around the plug to allow it to fit.

HOWEVER!!!

Know that if you do this, you are damaging the statue plugs and if you remove too much, you might find that the statue is too loose, so I do NOT recommend you do that unless you have no other choice, and if you absolutely must, make sure that you only remove the smallest amount at a time. Remove a bit, test the plug, remove a bit more, test the plug. You don’t want to overdo it and risk damaging the statue.

That is ESPECIALLY true for the wings, tail and rider’s arm, because if you file down those plugs too much the pieces will not stay in the sockets and they will fall out. So before you even think about using a file, make sure you’ve got no other choice.

@carhagen, that’s a good idea, I may try it, I’m at my wits end, it’s so silly I can’t get the plugs in, they do line up (the hole “looks like” the plug, but, it simply won’t go in. Truthfully none of them will, I’ve tried each, but the main one (the rectangular one in the “back” seems to be the one that would anchor and should be the easiest, doesn’t go in and has literally nothing to block it, it’s a rectangle.

The plugs on mine definitely don’t line up with the holes in the base. Two of them are also significantly larger than the holes. I’m not really sure what to do. Maybe if it’s a large enough issue, Blizzard will offer replacements like they did for the 15th Anniversary server blade acrylics.

@Ahnola I don’t know if this will help, but it took me a couple of minutes before realizing there was a kind of black cover over the plugs that lock into the base. Once I took that off the statue fit together fairly easily.

I had to bend two of the legs pretty hard to eventually get it to fit snugly. I think maybe the cover piece I had was shaped off and held the feet too close together long enough for them to settle in that position.

That is awful. That would stress me out.

I was having problems til i realized theres a black shroud thats removable over the bottom!

I thought the black base at the gryphon’s feet was part of the sculpture and was so terrified of breaking it until this comment. Thank the Light.

You are a life-saver (or statue saver)!

It absolutely didn’t click with me that the black thing was supposed to be a cover until I found this comment while searching for how to put this thing together!
