Did not encounter this bug until I got to Chapter 5 of the campaign. Now I get cutscenes and the talking head boxes where the Dialog cuts out but still here the music/soundtrack. I can restart the game and it works for a bit but eventually the dialog will cut out again.
I’ve done the same cutscene over and over with various different “fixes” to no avail, even going as far as to reinstall with zero addons. Blizz please acknowledge the issue.
Very real possibility they won’t bother fixing it anytime soon. Most people are probably just going to have to deal with broken cutscenes if they want to participate in seasonal content, which means missing out on experiencing the story as intended.
that is ridiculously lame and honestly extremely disappointing and frustrating.
Same Issue please fix it
apparently they did in one sentence, no time line. Just that its a client side issue so would have to be addressed in an update.
the strike happened like what, a week or two ago. That cannot be it.
I can confirm also this bug is a thing this has happened to me and this really is kinda lame this needs to get fix Blizzard kinda ruins the feel of the storyline
Seems to be semi-fixed, I just did The Queen’s Chains quest and the cutscene was voiced, but still disabled dialogue after, needing a game restart.
can confirm, just did it for the 10th time and this time it had voices. Voices also continued to work after the cutscene in-game
Confirming. Working for me now. Did Rook Rally and The Edicts.
As of now I’m still not able to hear dialogue during any post 80 cutscene. Not seeing any fix on my end.
Just tried the cutscene in The Proscenium and it works!! So I will update if I notice any that do not work. All NPCs also still have dialogue audio after the cutscene as well. Here’s to hoping!
Working for me as well finally.
Just checked, definitely not fixed. No sound at all but character dialogue.
The final cutscene worked for me when doing the quest today.
It seems the problem is back with this week’s cutscene…
I haven’t done it yet, can anyone confirm? I saw comments about it in Reddit.
Problem has been fixed. The cutscenes for the final chapter were bugged yesterday but were fixed soon after. At least they worked for me.
Personally I haven’t had any issues with the “normal” cutscenes.
I HAVE been having constant issues with the pre-rendered cinematics, however. Every time I watch a cinematic for the first time, it plays for about 30 seconds before the video cuts off completely, and its 50/50 on whether the audio will cut off (sometimes it’s just the voice lines but I can hear the music/ambience, other times its all audio). Game hasn’t frozen, I can press ESC to bring up the Skip/No-Skip window.
I close the client and restart the game (because I want to watch the cinematic in-game and not have to resort to YT), and the cinematics work perfectly upon watching them again.
I was having similar issues with the SL patch content pre-rendered cinematics early in DF (except they would get 1 second in before crashing the client), and the post-Fyrakk Amirdrassil cinematic would freeze the for a few seconds if I skipped it (but that seemed to have been “fixed” in the latter half of S4).
fixed for maybe you
