War Within Audio/Cutscene bug

Just chiming in, in case Blizzard are dismissing this as a “rare” issue. Every cutscene is affected, and dialogue outside of cutscenes thereafter are also missing audio. This isn’t a new issue, either. It’s been around for quite a while, on and off.

I have to exit the game to get the audio to start working again. It ruins the experience. Hopefully Blizzard fixes this soon.

Just happened to me at The Queen’s Chains, also happened in the other two cutscenes of the War Within Campaign chapter. Probably best to grind gear or something else while they fix it, it kills the questing vibe

Just chiming in to say that this happened to me as well as others in my guild. It wasn’t a problem prior to Tuesday. (Myself and others I’ve been talking to did early access.)

Most recently, the quest after you let the Queen loose in Azj-Kahet, and you and the undead rogue run away, there’s subtitles, but no voice over.

Its still happening, no sound in cutscenes and all dialogue after is muted.

Is this going to be fixed or not? Blizz counting that EA money instead?

Same thing happening for myself and my wife. This is so frustrating…

Probably in two or three months from now, possibly never. They probably care more about seasonal content than story content anyhow.

Sometimes bugs can’t be fixed outside a major patch release, too.

So far I’m at 5-6 cutscenes that had no audio. It’s really annoying.

Just adding my name to the list. All end game cut scenes cause the voice tracks to drop out, and can only be restored by restarting the game.

Same thing here. I’d also like to no te that it was happening last night before I went to sleep- so in my case restarting the game didnt help :(. last nights cutscenes were the ones w/ Thrall and the earthen with the stormbirbs- that whole questline. This mornings was the one w the giant…
Reading through these it may be important this this all started as soon as i hit lvl 80, was fine before that

Piling in. Happens both with and without addons.

Happening to me. No addons. It happened in the all of the post level 80 campaign quests so far.

It’s been almost a week now and they haven’t fixed a thing! I am really getting agitated! They did some maintenance just last Tuesday and Wednesday and they could have fixed it then. SO irresponsible!

I also wanted to add my name to the list of people who have been experiencing this bug. It’s been affecting my alts as well. Ever since I hit level 80 on my first toon, all my other characters, even during leveling haven’t have had dialogue in cut scenes or greetings.

Even the wowhead version is broken for the cinematics and doesn’t have dialogue, there’s been conversation that it’s because of the voice actor strike going on right now, I thought they would have done these lines well before that occurred, but maybe?

It’d be nice to know whether it’s a bug they intend to fix or because of the voice actor stuff either way. Maybe they don’t want to lend credence to the latter, as far as I knew the voice actors for blizzard specific stuff seemed really happy to be doing it.

I hope they fix it soon, it really does blow the immersion to only hear sound effects like a hammer striking or boots moving and music. It’s a pity to lose Xal’s lovely voice in those cut scenes

I wasn’t aware there was a strike but that’s an interesting thought. However given that the audio becomes corrupted after watching one of these cutscenes for other events (e.g. other cutscenes that DO have audio, audio from NPCs when clicking on them, etc), I’m more inclined to believe this is a bug and not strike related.

It would be nice though to get an update from Blizz on this, I know there’s a lot of people like myself included who are waiting on this to be fixed before they proceed with the story

agreed! IF only they had a phone number we could call! Still I can’t continue with the campaign until this is fixed!

So is Blizzard going to comment on this or just dig their head in the sand?

Sfill experiencing the opposite of this bug. No sound at all EXCEPT character dialogue. The log on music cuts out when the character screen comes up and then no more sound but quest dialogue. Restarting does not fix.
