War Within Alpha Story Spoilers

well 2/3 of em obtained a form of immortality

However, Erevien was framing as if the MHP is the norm in this scenario. I was merely pointing out that is incorrect as 2 of the other cases are not MHP’s.

Still male human is male human. The high elves have a fetish here. The blood elves found actual elves as their allies and are so much better in their story.

Same elf

Culture wise? Sure. But everything else? not.

Green eyes.
Keen to fel magic.
Access to the Sunwell.
Honoring the pact with the Horde.
Being pragmatic instead of moral idealism.
Dragonhawks and Hawkstriders as mounts instead of horses.
Can be Demon Hunter and Paladin.
Control of all of Quel’thalas.

The blood elves are much better.

Most blood elf eyes are blue (again) or gold now canonically, because of the sunwell’s cleansing properties. They were never actually keen on fel magic on a cultural level, that was retconned by chronicles as most of them not being entirely aware of what the burning crystals even were, and it being indirect exposure to them that made their eyes go green.

Once the sunwell reignited the path to edgy dark paragmatic elves went up in a puff of smoke, and what was left was high elves with a political affiliation.

I do think Blood elves are cooler than high elves.

Thematically the struggle made them more humble and down to earth.

Void elves are the coolest though.

Do you have sources about the eyes and pragamatism thing? High elves are the diehard loyalists here not blood elves. We have no reason to ditch them considering Blizzard would never tear up guilds just because a tiny minority of players can pretend to live in the behinds of male humans like a stockholm syndrome.

Chronicles only reconfirmed older lore and dev clarifications on the topic. Eating fel magic was the line drawn between Kael’s zealots on Outland and Average Joe’dorei in Silvermoon as far back as their TBC companion lore, and TBC itself.

It was why we were instructed to mana tap “mana-bearing vermin,” why the nature of those spooky green crystals never rose above subtext, why only the warlocks on Sunstrider Isle understood what was corrupting it. This misconception that the blood elves of Silvermoon were all fel-chugging crazies has been apocrypha for years; most got their fel eyes just living around the stuff.

my point still stands. High elves in WOW are known for selling themelves out to humans and stay their sidekicks.

Who are you sidekick to, High Elf?

high elves like Vereesa and Alleria are sidekicks to male human paladins like Rhonin and Turalyon and never evolved beyond that. The only time that trope was subverted was with Sylvanas who clearly was the boss in the relationship with Nathanos.

We blood elves however are pragmatic and our own people. We don’t need to be led by the humans of Warcraft just to be relevent. Our strong cast of characters is a proof to this specific thing.

The blood elves basically are just humans at this point though. They’re so watered down.

You’re not a separate race from High Elves
