Want to start playing again

but man Classic just ain’t it right now.

The entire game is infested with bots more than I’ve ever seen and I’ve been playing for like 17 years.

Like how is that okay?

Also PvE side no RDF STILL is disappointing. Finding it difficult to find groups at all as a fresh 80, everyone wants high GS for easy heroic dungeons. I’m also on a smaller server and generally play late at night due to my work schedule.

There’s also things like world pvp being non-existant. The economy being over-inflated because of botting and gold buying. Anyone still playing is fully geared and elitist.

Dunno. I had fun questing in between retail queues. But I just hit 80 and am pretty disappointed so far (and I played this xpac back in the day as well).

My main is on a smaller server and I never see GS requirements for Heroics, though most people want to do Heroic +, I do see Heroics advertised and even normals in LFG. It’s not east though, on smaller servers it’s who you know not how good you are. Are you in a guild?

I’d say the majority aren’t elitist. I don’t like carrying people to level up their characters or alts but I do go out of my way to help people with things. There’s one guy in my guild though who is low level that asks for help on a quest in Vanilla or TBC, you help him, he asks for you to do a chain of quests, and then doesn’t say thank you. It’s just not the fully geared people.

Though I will say Classic is different from my limited time trying out Retail. Retail has the chat that used to be LFG back in TBC where people chatted, but more friendly and less goal oriented? If someone is coming from Retail I can see why they’d have questions about the atmosphere. I bet you though that high level Classic players are friendlier than high level Retail players in the raiding scene.

There’s a lot you need to do and it will take time, more time because there are fewer and fewer people in your position.

fortunately or unfortunately it’s a social game. putting RDF and bots aside , i would work on getting a guild and friending guildies

Yeah, you can hit max level in Retail without talking to anyone it seems.

I guess it’s a little hard for some servers fresh characters to get into heroics, not that bad on mine I see groups every day forming for heroics, bit of a split between regular heroics and H+ but there’s enough people doing both.

I don’t have any 80 alts so I’m always going into a group overgeared but I haven’t seen a gear score requirement asked of anyone in awhile, did H+ Stratholme and Halls of Stone/Lightning with people that looked nearly fresh and nobody seems to care anymore in my experience. There were noobs asking for higher gear score than what the dungeons dropped when it first came out but that’s really died down here, maybe some higher expectations on some of the harder dungeons but I can’t imagine it being anything crazy nowadays.

I don’t need anything from these dungeons myself, I just do them because I enjoy it and sometimes collect weapons if nobody else needs them, I’d offer to help you through H+ but you’d have to be on Bloodsail.

If all else fails though, join a guild and try to join runs with their alts.

I am going to post this here too, because I really don’t understand it. Am I missing something?

“Why are people botting BGs with DKs? WG makes sense. They probably just farm and afk. But what are they doing in BGs? Are they using honor to buy gems? Or are they people who had their accounts boosted? If they are boosters, why DKs? Wouldn’t you boost a class that wasn’t as prevalent?”

Like WTF

It’s not much, but you do get XP from doing BGs, and since bots don’t operate with time constraints they can grind them endlessly, and scripts for instanced content are way more reliable than open world. Bots use DKs because they’re the best gold farming class that requires the least effort. Paladins are /the/ best but they need to buy water and start at level 1. DKs start at 55 with great gear and don’t need any consumables so the sooner they can get into Botanica the sooner they can start racking up gold. And if you level up, the farming gets faster. It’s not that complicated. They don’t want anything out of BGs except easy XP.

I would expect them out in the world farming.

They might be harder to detect in BGs.

I get the feeling that most are tourist who paid for a boost and DK boosts are probably cheap. 58-80

Yeah there are some bots in the open world, go to the fields near the demon spawners in eastern hellfire lol. The bots are everywhere. Are you trying to imply that the bots named “Ffhvnn” who grind BGs are actually real people? Lmao what is the point of that?

There are tons farming herbs in Sholozar Basin.

RDF takes away from social interaction.

you don’t want retail so they cant go the retail route or you’d end up in retail.

Im on a mega server and cant find a single group to level with for 25 levels. Im level 42. Stop with the corny “classic is more social” no classic TRIES to make you more social(barely) and it doesn’t work

Never seen that many but it is pretty bad. Probably help if they went after bots instead of bullying forum users.
(Censored until March 26)

So, out of curiosity … if you can’t find a group on your mega server, then how do you think RDF would make it any better odds for you to get one?

There’s a group finder and a channel dedicated to forming groups and you’re unable to get a group (supposedly).

Adding RDF would just give you a more automated waiting room with the same result, wouldn’t it?

Then we’d have multiple threads of people complaining about that. It’s a never ending cycle.

And before anyone goes and gets riled up, if RDF were added - yes I would use it. The feature we have now works just as good though (for me anyways).

You have my pity retail player, but you’re wrong about Classic not being social. Maybe WOTLK Classic isn’t but when I levelled my first character, Orindoril, through Ashkandi a medium sized server in TBCC, it was on par with all those stories you hear about Vanilla back in the day. I didn’t even level Orin during the start of TBC, it was around the time Zul’Aman came out. In fact the only dungeon I had trouble finding people for was Stratholme. I befriended some people while levelling and quested with them every day, I took on challenges I shouldn’t have (Attempting orange level quests), emoted with strangers and explored the world, visiting the Dark Portal at level 40.

EDIT: Also gathering a friend, an acquaintance who escorted me to Shattrath, and a guildmate to finish the Dreadsteed quest which we originally tried to 3 man at level 60 before the acquaintance came online. Good times.

What you’re saying about WOTLKC doesn’t surprise me, but to say Classic isn’t more social as a whole is incorrect and it’s a shame you didn’t get the opportunity to experience that.

Now I’m not saying there isn’t a bot problem, but I am saying it’s ironic that these screenshots of supposed DK bots was takin by someone who is playing a DK but isn’t a bot.

Bro you realize rdf is cross server right

Emoted with a stranger that you cant even name, nor saw them ever again. You can do that on retail bro. You said a whole bunch of nothing :skull:

“Can you summon?”
Group finishes dungeon
“Ty gl”

So social bro

In retail, yes … it is.

When it dropped initially though, if I recall correctly, it was still server based.

This is not retail.

Edit: I stand corrected. it functioned with battlegroups, which was 2-3 servers linked … but it did not go across all servers.

Either way, it’s not relevant to my point in how the current group finder works fine.

Hey now, that’s just the first 80 I leveled lol. I played rogue in og wrath and am leveling alts!
