its kids these days, if the option even exists to do things an easier way than they would prefer to do it, it triggers them …
what can ya do though
anyway, as others have said, the biggest complaint with PF is not the rep grinds, its the time-gating

Yeah I agreed with OP’s proposition on it too. Would you agree with my second question though, first character needs to get rep normally, alts can use tabard?
How many Pathfinder threads is this one for you? Stop spamming.
Well, for me personally I LOATHE the world quests. I actually do not enjoy doing them at all. I’ve never liked them and for the most part they feel contrived from the actual gameplay experience I enjoy.
The time gating is something that doesn’t bother me. Like said I’d be fine with rep caps that expand on a weekly basis, so people can’t grind out exalted in the first two weeks of an expansion. I just don’t want to be locked into a mode of gameplay I don’t enjoy. It’s no different than requiring people to log 10 hours a week of pet battles to unlock dungeons. It’s just a bad idea.

certainly, I agree with all of this
I personally don’t like rep gating at all, ive never been the person that grinds out optional stuff in video games, I don’t see fun in it, but blizzard gave us something nice for 8 years, then locked it behind a 2 gates, ill deal with it cause I want to fly, but the gating sucks
my point was just that the vast majority of pro-fliers would prefer the rep gate to time gate
personally it shouldn’t have either imo, it should be a long, challenging, quest chain, thats available much sooner an a year after launch

Yeah my opinion on flying hasn’t changed. I think it shouldn’t be gated at all and should be something the developers consider when making the world and world content.
But seeing it is gated and locked behind rep AND locked behind these stupid world quests that drive me up a wall I’d say people like me got the worst of it. The least they could do is put rep tabards back in the game and cap rep on a weekly basis. So we get the exact same progression constraints we have now but with much more gameplay options.

Mists had the right idea when it came to flying.

or at least some more options to gain rep along with grinding WQs
craftable turn ins, repeatable dungeon quests, things like that
For me it has to be something of a complete alternative to world questing. Not this tiny offering we have now with contracts which basically means you’re doing world quests anyway.
World Quests suck. No two ways about that. It doesn’t hold up to raiding or dungeons or pvp. At all and it probably never will.

I certainly see your point
I think there is a little more use to them than you though, when im gearing up my alts or even on my main, ill check the WQs for any gear rewards that might be an upgrade, even if its 5 ilvls its still worth the time
but they are certainly terrible when ‘forced’ to grind them for rep
It actually wouldn’t stop tbh.
Hence the reason i said MOST

I didn’t feel like I was actually doing anything for those factions. Getting Orgrimmar rep while you smash through the majority of instances… Orgrimmar had nothing to do with anything except RFC (and maybe WC).
It was very convenient, sure. It was more like “killing in the name of…” instead of actively assisting in a conflict. It was just running to a vendor and buying a cheap item to equip. If there was some unlock behind it, similar to MOP’s catch-up systems; it would be better for me.
If I didn’t like flying, I could just not fly; but, it puts me at too big a disadvantage in the game. Not using the tabards would put me far behind others.
If tabards were unlocked at Honored or Revered as a reward for doing all those quests and world quests, this would be better. Convenience for the sake of convenience doesn’t always make the game more enjoyable.

That’s because the entire thing is pretty unimaginative. Go kill X of Y, get trinket that would otherwise take a week farming in a dungeon.
And it’s the same with people complaining that M+ is more rewarding than raiding. There’s just no imagination on how to make that journey more lengthy while still giving players a deterministic feel.
I posted an idea awhile back. About crafting and holding onto pieces that would exist through multiple expansions. Something that takes you through the world, collecting components and while some RNG would be involved the majority would be planned out by the player. Think an artifact without AP, with far more involved crafting (like a sword hilt, blade and pommel) that takes months to acquire.
That system could be implemented to work in all modes of play, too. So you wouldn’t have this WQ vs Dungeon vs Raid debacle we have now. Just do whatever content you enjoy and you’ll progress on the important power systems in the game like everyone else.

The biggest complaint about Pathfinder is how long it takes after the expansion is out before they finally let us fly.

If you want to see Pathfinder complaints end, stop splitting it into two parts with an arbitrary year long time gate between them.
Pathfinder would be fine if you could just complete it at the start.

I think that reputation revamp along with a world that is friendly to ground mounts IMVHO.

Reputation is not the reason for Path Finder complaints so you are wrong.
Also, a better solution for reputations for alts is the Pandaria style rep bonus.

What if they had the world quests, AND quests to go in instances and kill
certain bosses. Kind of like world quests in instances.
Players choose which they want to do, and both give the same amount of rep.

And give healers and tanks a 50% rep bonus to help incentivize playing those roles.
