My friends, as much as I love them can be super mega jerks sometimes, and sometimes the community of wow can be kind of toxic as well. I’ve been trying to decide what I want to make my shammy and its been between orc (frost wolf) and vulpera, but IDK orc animations just feel so uncrispy to me so I didnt’ decide to do it, I also just don’t like their “vibe” (frost wolves you take no offence to this quote for it does not target you) I mean I decided that maybe I don’t even want to play orc, I’m literally already a female orc irl, I’m masculine, not very feminine and as the femorcs would say " I NEED TO WAX MY CHEST AGAIN" so idk why i’d play one in game when i am one IRL zug zug.
I wanted to play a vulpera and PVE with them but i’ve had people in RP refuse to talk to me because of it I think and they message me saying “play a real horde race and then we can RP” and even my friend told me “vulpera ruined horde rp” I don’t get it, I just wanna play them I think they are cute. I mean I get it its the “Furry” race but Idk why people need to be so rude aboout it.
I don’t like Vulpera personally but I’ve taken far too much abuse for playing a Blood Elf back in TBC to ever be a jerk to someone for playing any race in this game. Your friends might still give you a hard time, but as long as it’s in good spirits don’t be discouraged. If someone is going to cold-shoulder you for playing a Vulpera it’s absolutely their loss and you do not want to be associated with them.
If anything, you’ll have a great filter of who sucks to be around without even having to say a word.
This is, of course, deplorable. Vulpera are people too. But what if I told you that you could be a mix between Vulpera and Orcs?
No, I don’t mean a half breed. Nothing weird like that.
What I do mean is: crisp animations, similar vibes, green skin, no chest hair, quirky personalities, lots of money, acceptance in the Horde, great vehicles, awesome bombs, pleasure palaces, great class selection, amazing architecture that sometimes will have spikes, cool missions, friendly RPers, a vibrant community both in game and out, friends, foes, money, bombs, legal market manipulation….
This is the first I’m hearing of it. Are you sure you’ve got the right server? I don’t think anyone here has time to make fun of Vulpera between bible studies.
Man, this post really speaks to me. I feel so bad for you.
Here’s the thing… I know it’s hard, I know it doesn’t feel good in the moment, but the vulpera are a valid race that Blizzard has added to the game, so playing – and roleplaying – them is also valid. Therefore, no one should be able to tell you not to play one, and you should not feel like you can’t play one. So do it.
I suggest you be firm with your friends. Say, “I understand you feel this way, but I like the vulpera, and I’m going to play one. Stop making me feel bad about it.” Go into detail about how you feel. They need to know how their words are affecting you.
For strangers, remember this – for every person who won’t roleplay with you, there are a dozen who will. Turn this into an opportunity to show people how great vulpera roleplay can be. Lean into the best aspects of the vulpera race and make yourself seen. Connect with other vulpera roleplayers and strut your stuff.
Ending the stigma starts with people like you. It ends when vulpera roleplay becomes normal. So keep that chin up, eh?
I love Vulpera and we have one in our guild that is a valued member, our sparring champion and we will absolutely fite for him. We love our Vulpera members. I have my own little Vulpera that I will one day level. I do want a Vulpera shaman because the fox totems are just awesome so one day I’ll make one.
I agree with the above sentiment. The people that say those nasty things are not the people you want to RP with. I remember the hate and whispers I got when I made a nelf DK back in Wrath. It gets to you and it’s not cool. Before that it was being made fun of because I was a hunter. Toxic people are just toxic and you shouldn’t listen to them. Find good people that will RP with you and enjoy your Vulpera!
That’s fine, totally fine. And it’s totally fine to play the “uwu” type vulp as well. I just personally don’t enjoy that type of character. But then there’s alot of characters and rp I don’t like, so I don’t partake. But that’s just me and my particular tastes. It doesn’t mean I think others shouldn’t play or play along. If it’s something you enjoy, go for it! Don’t be afraid of what other people think. Live your best rp life. I have found pretty much someone, somewhere, will always be willing to play with you.
I’m honestly more just wondering it seems like Horde tends to poop on the new races more then alliance, I’ve played both factions for the past 6 years and horde just seems to be more toxic over all and that’s another thing thats kind of sad.
I ran into the same issue OP. My Vulpera was basically a mini Orc but I just struggled to find any public RP with him. The OOC dislike bleeds into IC and it makes it difficult to find any RP.
Best advice I can give is to try and find a guild. You’ll have an easier time playing your character in a welcoming space.
I think because it’s a mix of old school warcraft players sprinkled with a couple fantasy purists that don’t like the idea of their tough barbaric orc and tauren standing next to ~pretty~ elves, rotting undead, uwu fox people and kung fu pandas. Then you toss in the weird furry haters and you get this awful mix of people.
That said, I’ve seen Alliance players hate on worgen for being furries and an extremely racist guild hating them for an incredibly vile reason. Same bunch that got a racist stick up their butt about black and brown skin humans and elves. Void elves got a bit of smack when they came out but I think that largely died down. It was kinda a mix of them not being high elves and weird made up on the fly goth elves and also the usual elf haters. Let’s also not forget the gnome hate and now mechagnome hate too.
Same type of players more or less, one on team blue and one on team red.
That has always struck me as so odd. Vulpera are social outcasts that are beset by problems, are nomadic by nature and are scrappy as all get-out. Despite being cute, adorable little floofballs they’ll cut you up with a razor if you pose a threat to them and theirs. That to me just screams Thrall era Horde - ‘I don’t want to, but if you force me to, I will jack your face up.’
I will never understand why they garner so much ire.
Vulpera are the definition of a Horde race when you look at what they’ve been through. They fit perfectly.
I’m hesitant to say it’s the community’s fault because I don’t like blanket statements. There have been notable…“incidents” in the past and some ongoing drama. Really don’t want to go down that rabbit hole.
I want to avoid the drama too, especially since all I heard is second hand.
Yet going to repeat myself from the other vulpera thread. Yes, there’s some creepy and unsavory ERP vulpera but there’s also unsavory ERP humans, undead, elves, orcs, trolls and everything that is playable and not playable.
I still play Draenei even though I’ve seen far too many with profiles going into details about their ****** size ****** and ****** and how they want to ******** me while ************** I’m not going to let that deter me from playing Draenei or undead or vulpera or tauren.
It’s just unfortunate that when vulpera were released I think that specific group of unsavory players got a lot of spotlight which painted every vulpera player poorly.
