Wake up people. Not adding RDF is

Part of their business strategy. By not adding RDF, allowing boosters, there is a constant demand for gold…which people now have legal and easy access through thr wow token.

If they were to add RDF, youre talking about a plethora of boosters no longer getting gold a day, which makes the demand for it go down outside of gdkp raids.

If anyone at this point honestly thinks that they are not adding RDF because they want to stay true to classic, then its time to wake up. Boosters are making an easy 5000 gold am hour (each, so probably hundreds of thousands of gold a day between strath, setthek, hos, amd dtk boosts between the hundreds of boosters spamming) and most players will gobble up their $20 token to feed that boost.

Does anybody actually want RDF?

What are you doing right now? How do you play? Can you explain what your day to day playstyle is and how it will be impacted by RDF?

I’m curious as to whether this is for people who level character after character, or people who don’t/can’t raid because they don’t have time to schedule it and don’t know how to type in LFG to form groups or what.

What would change for you and really how are you playing right now?

There is a flaw in your logic. The token in classic can only be sold once through the AH and can only be redeemed for subscription time. So there is no market to be gained by collecting them other than an alternate means to pay a subscription. Just about every token that is used is a sub that would have been paid either way. There is no real net gain in it for Blizz, they would be paid anyway. The only gain is the player who now has a legitimate way to use their real money to turn into game gold.

Yes I want RDF. I play on a populated server and am part of an active guild so getting groups during prime time hours is no real issue. The issue for me is my available time is not always during these prime time hours. I have a varying schedule and am just as likely to be playing at 3pm as I am 3am.

Okay, but what about the questions?

How is your gear? What characters do you play? What dungeons would you want to use RDF for? How often would you use it?

Absolutely nothing.

I just play devil’s advocate. I typically don’t pug anyway.

I just saw how the community took an even larger nosedive into the dumpster after they turned it into a lobby game.

Just remember kids, normal person + anonymity + audience = total jerkwad.

There is no flaw in my logic. People who need gold sell the token, people who need gametime buy the token, boosters who want gold for their alts/mains for gear or gdkp or to sell for RMT more likely take that gold from above person, and the cycle rinse repeats.

That is all true, but that is a player/customer thing. There is no grand scheme from Blizz to create a token market, they don’t need to. They would be getting our money anyway.

Not really, because a person say the minimum bid for a Gdkp raid is 5-10k, thats one wow token on MINIMUM BID,one person is more likely than not to buy MULTIPLE + their subscription, meaning blizzard can tap token buyers for $100+ a month depending on how bad they want gear. A boost is typically 400g solo or 200g duo, it takes about 9-10 runs per level from 70-80 in hos unrested with heirlooms, 100 runs x 400g is 40,000 gold just for 10 levels of boost, that doesnt include boosting setthek in TBC or strat in classic.

Note * as someone with multpile 80s, i can tell you solo questing until 70 and struggling to fill northrend dungeons is not entertaining sobyes boost are more fun at this point

Most people want RDF, are you new here?

I am literally standing here half-afk as I type this, waiting for lightning strikes to be absorbed from scalewing serpents in stonetalon mountains

with RDF I’d be in the middle of a dungeon actually playing the game. probably would’ve finished leveling this druid days ago and would already be on my next alt, because alt leveling becomes way more enticing with a more reliable way to level non-dps classes/specs

So let’s see, I have 4 different characters that I play actively. Gear ranges from 4600gs on the lowest to 5100gs on the highest. I have short bursts of playtime throughout the day usually lasting 30mins to an hour with a few hours downtime in between. This in on a 24 hour cycle so I have no specific time that I am more likely to be on. The ability to que for an instance at whatever hour I am on would make my playtime more meaningful. I mostly play on Pagle, the 2nd highest population alliance server and even there outside of prime time hours it gets fairly dead and finding groups can take longer than the time I have available.

Same. My toddler is up at 6am, i get maybe an hour in the morning uniterruptes then i can play in about 30 minute sessions on and off throughout the day, with maybe 3 hours at night if im lucky…i was in my 20s when wotlk was new, I’ve got a family and responsibilities with wotlk classic, since they already middle fingered #nochanges, asking for some adult convenient additions like RDF isnt unreasonable since the majority of us arent on summer break from school.

So, still leveling? I’d this your main? Do you have a main?

What is your playstyle? What do you do in game? How many characters do you play? Is leveling the experience you prefer?

Do you play end game? Do you have max level characters? Do you raid? Do you PvP?

So, I assume you raid. Do you raid with a guild, on a schedule or pug or?

Still leveling, yes. I don’t know whether this is my main or not, previously it was my death knight that I haven’t touched since Naxx first came out and I cleared day 1. Since returning I’ve transferred to this server with a friend to join an active RP guild, and by my understanding they need healers more than tanks so I’ve been leveling this Druid

RP and PvE. At present, just this Druid, probably will start playing my DK more once this Druid is more settled at endgame. I’d love to play my priest and warrior at 71 and 70 respectively as well, but with how much of a slog leveling is right now without ready access to dungeons, I don’t have it in me

Yes, yes, yes, extremely rarely

Bad question. I hit 80 on my DK two days ago, spoke with 3 guilds recruiting for p3, not many even recruit and im on a very populated server, all 3 guilds wamt players who are “already geared to push content”. So youre options outside of pugging or gdkp are very limited for the most part, or one of the zerg invite guilds with 14 year old immaturity plaguing it…

Yes I raid with my guild. Meeting that schedule uses up all my discretionary time so any playtime I can get outside of raids is take it as I can.

Well I sure hope you’re not a teacher or in any position of influence who interacts with others.
