Wait they are killing all of plater and bigdebuffs not just the conditional scripts

ok i’m out cya later boys

default name plates are unplayable and hideous especially in team fights

default raid frames unplayable for healers

not being able to see buffs/debuffs on name plates is cringe. just hide it from the combat log so people can’t make scripts

imagine playing aff lock and you can’t edit your plates to see your dots and also those hideous default healthbars LOL nah it’s over

truuuu dooood imagine blizz actually developing a ui when they can just force their peasiantes to do all the work for free

You’ll get used to it, you’ll all get used to it.

I think they’re going to compensate for the addons they are removing. They understand why people need them and why certain addons are popular so it wouldn’t make sense to just remove them while keeping the base game the way it is.

Read more than the headline they’re beefing up the base UI so players don’t need these addons

Idk but blizzard track record on improving the base UI is kinda bleak, hopefully they hire some of the addon creators because the current team updating the ui is pretty bad at implementing their own.

Like the CD manager is still bad. I mean sure in the future it might get adjusted but as for now it’s not good. And their nameplates design look just as bad if not worse. Is not even that, they just released CD manager where it looks like they didn’t want to put effort into the basics functions of one…

Granted I think elvui is one of the ones their not red listing.

They literally are entirely fine and if you people weren’t so used to playing with a severe handicap you’d be able to achieve your goals perfectly fine without them.

Not attacking you but these ‘promises’ age like fine milk. Remember when we weren’t going to get borrowed power back due to unpopularity?

I was talking about this with the raid lead’s in our guild telling them to get ready and they were in total denial, saying blizz wasn’t going to do this lol. Pve’ers are going to freak out. One good thing that may come from this is some specs get re designed. Outlaw rogue is awful on the stock UI, I’ve never played anything so disorganized, messy and chaotic. Spec has no flow or smoothness what so ever. Flip over to Sub and it’s butter with like 3 less actions per minute.

They’re updating the nameplates. But as far as what was actually said, I thought we’d still be able to customize them, just not change conditional things like, a cast bar glowing hot pink when a bad spell is coming, etc.

Psyfiend bar that makes a rubber ducky noise and covers half my screen hehe :dracthyr_love_animated:

Doesn’t mean it’s going to be good or near the equivalent of plater. L change L game

I mean it can’t be and that’s sort of the point.

I’m unaware of what plater provides that gives an “unfair” advantage. They should work on their own base ui (should have a decade ago in reality) but both should be able to coexist. IMO we are at the point of overreaching while most players fail to realize all of these “banned” features will still exist privately.

same thing the other problem addons do, which is everything

can put whatever alerts/indicators for pve stuff can track entire enemy team cds on their bars in arena

I don’t want alerts I just want to edit out all the trash debuffs, change the width/height of the healthbar because default are too thin, edit the order of my dots, put a highlight on my target so I don’t lose track of it, and put cc debuffs on a different row.

Showing their cds on nameplate isn’t a HUGE deal but if anything these changes will help cheaters MORE because it will be impossible to see stuff like sac with no visual indication but the cheaters will know sac is up and have a huge advantage

looking at buffs/debuffs on unit frame when theres 10000 trash buffs/debuffs is awful and only benefits zug specs even more like bm who just doesn’t care about anything

Are you sure about that? I don’t believe it does without other addons doing that part of it. Either way their UI will probably be sufficient it sucks to lose my profile on plater. None of this makes any sense when these add ons will still exist privately and weak auras have the capability to do anything in the game. All this does is remove the accessibility for everyone and leaves it for people that pay or have the connections for private WAs and add ons. There is also zero reason to believe blizzard can track this and or will enforce it.

look at this

imagine going from left to right

barf

but at least single target zug zugs don’t really care

Well you’d hope they will add a blacklist option for your own buffs/debuffs. I’m sure they won’t considering the massive amounts of work this will require they need to go redo the mechanics in every single dungeon/raid amongst many other things. I bet they put these add ons/ weak aura scripts that function the same in the battle net shop.

I think this is one of the big “middle ground” concerns, though.

Blizzard has said that they’ll keep purely cosmetic things like the elite portrait around your frame or coordinates for the map.

They’re also getting rid of ALL things that influence combat and decisionmaking like cd trackers for enemy AND team and weakauras.

However, where do frames fall in this in terms of displaying information?

Personally, I think that bigdebuffs and better frames should be baked into the default UI similar to the cd manager, but we’ll see in midnight!
