Why is it (and many other store mounts) so expensive? Serious question, Blizz. Does the model’s extra detail and fantastical cosmetic style truly make it worth as much as nearly 60 days of subscription time?
Functionally, they’re identical to the basic 100g flying mounts available in-game. If they had some additional mechanic, like providing high underwater travel speed, or allowing you to glide like a DH, then I’d consider buying one… for like $5 USD. Lol.

They are losing subscribers. They think a one time 25 dollar mount is waaay better than making content in game to retain subscribers.
Example: they could have made an epic in game quest chain that has you help the vulpine rebuild a home in voldun and raise vulpine familiars kind of like mists of pandaria farm. Gather food, take it to hunt, etc. At the end of 12 weeks you get the familiar you raised from a cub. Bam! You retained some subscribers.

Reminds me of the Cloudserpent dailies. Those were good times.

Don’t forget the sales tax too!

They’ve sold probably close to a million of them, so… I’d say yes. If it isn’t worth that much to you, don’t buy it.

They are trying to increase revenue to keep their investors happy.

Well, when you add up mounts, pets, race changes, gold tokens, etc it starts to add up.

I love epic quest chains which reward me with something equal to the amount of effort I put into said quest chain! Haha. I remember acquiring the venomhide ravasaur mount way back in the day. Good times. It was my go-to mount.

1.7 millon players is still over kill stop kidding yourself here but still it was proven that the data for that info was false it’s more in the 5 million zone if not higher.

Please provide me with evidence. Thanks!
By offering bright and shiny things to addicts that can’t get a fix, blizz are dealers in cheap tricks these days it seems.

Really? Any evidence to back this? I’ve seen maybe 2 people with this mount. And that’s even in hub areas lol.
Why not?
I live with, as far as I can tell, some of the cheapest electricity in the western world. People gripe that it’s too expensive and The Man is out to get them.
I once pointed out how much more expensive some other places were. The individual who started the discussion replied that these other places were just getting people harder.
Anyway, my point is that… no matter how affordable something is, someone will gripe. It’s a subjective value equation. Personally, I’m not really seeing why an optional item that is purely cosmetic needs to be cheaper.

I don’t, and prob will never buy a mount or anything besides a server transfer from the Blizz store, but 25 isn’t that expensive, maybe 20 would be more reasonable
however, I just wanted to post to say I think that boat mount was some kind of conspiracy. I honestly feel bad a little bit for the people to spend the cash on it, and then realize a somewhat content drought and want to stop playing, atleast how i’ve been feeling past 2 months, I took all of Dec off first time in years doing that, resubbed 10 days ago and still have not played, but i’m not hating on the game, just lack of motivation
lol… highly doubt it… I’d say a quarter of that at most
I just did the math, 25x900k is like 22M cash — off just 1 mount? yea right
Microtransactions are a way to make a quick buck at your expense.
Here we go again.
It’s the same price as every other blizzard store mount. Blizzard is a business, and all businesses are in business to make money. If they’re too expensive for you, much like any other premium/optional cosmetic item from a store don’t buy it.

They sell Dreadwake because they know they have no content until next raid, and when 6 month subs ran out the raid would already come.
Zandalar and Kultiran will be launched several week after FFXIV: Shadowbringers and Anthem launch to try to pull WOW player back to the game.
Mark my Word.
