Vulpera racism is getting VERY old

*Fist pump! *

Still got it!

Dwarves were interesting because for a long time, there was this insistence from certain segments of the Horde and Alliance that Dwarves were the only “respectable” Alliance race because anything else was too fey or cute.

I feel like there was some weirdo logic going on there where they thought that Dwarves were more “masculine?” It wouldn’t surprise me if there were Dwarf RPers who were being weird about it.

No race was immune, though. Even Night Elves and Blood Elves had those occasional whackjobs who would go around yelling at female Elf characters who were talking with non-Elf races because they reasoned Elves needed to repopulate and it was also very weird.

Honestly, there’s no such thing as a form of RP that a weirdo will not twist and bend to be something stupid. It’s just that some RP lends itself to that more than others.

Dwarves have that natural fury to them which other alliance races don’t have. When humans, nelves, gnomes, draenei, or whoever else get mad, it just comes across as a melodramatic version of something the Horde does without effort. Except Dwarves. When a dwarf gets mad and you can see the fire in their eyes, you know it’s real.

That’s my take, anyways. Doesn’t have much to do with masculinity so much as it does making credible threats.

…and Dwarves are natural sprinters.

And at least Blizzard gave dwarf warriors the ability to heroic leap thus avoiding the humiliation of having to be thrown at an enemy. I still slot “roll” on this character. Thank you Blizz for that gem of a power in Remix.

The issue isn’t specific races. The issue is the people who play them. I think I’ve experienced terrible RPers ICly or OOCly being repugnant from humans, orcs, dwarves, elves, you name it. It really has nothing to do with what race they’re playing; ultimately, people are going to be bad because people are bad.

That being said, Vulpera should’ve had Australian accents. We were robbed.

Since the AR restrictions were removed, my 3rd char on remix is a Vulpera hunter.

Have to say, I’m 50/50 on these guys. It’s a nomadic race that lives in the desert. Why aren’t they more haggard looking? They should look more haggard and worn down by the sun/sand

I dunno how anyone could hate Vulpera so much. I’d give anything to have a cute little fox girl sidekick follow me around and sing annoying songs at me. Or offer me hard candies from her Sack of Many things when I am sad.

100% agree they should have had Aussie accents. My days would improve greatly if there were a bunch of little Steve Irwins running around explaining the local wildlife at me. A bunch of lil’ dudes running around saying the “C” word every 10 seconds would be hilarious as well.

Lot to take in here, hoo boy.

So, I’ll admit that I see more, MUCH MUCH more hate against Vulpera in general, and it kinda stops me from actively participating in the Orgrimmar RP scene. I’ve noticed folks will actively AVOID even talking to a vulpera player. (Noticed by being on my old Pandaren, Torikushi, and I got random approachers AND random whispers, whereas that doesn’t happen on Reixchal here.) It’s pretty bish-basic racism, though some take it way too far, like I initially complained about.

Alliance-side, I never actually see any racism, except against Horde races. Heck, I’ve even seen Vulpera running around Stormwind on MG, and I’m a little miffed that I don’t have the capacity to join them. (Multi-clienting is the bane of my existence. I can’t afford two accounts!) I’ve never really seen any Alliance races acting too stereotypical, except maybe some questionable Draenei women… >.>’

On the topic of Dwarves - back during late Mists, I used to play a female Dwarf, I forget her name now as i deleted her ages ago. I started a guild with her with the concept that she wanted to rebuild the park district. Never saw a single member, never got a single RP on her. (Though it COULD be because the guild was called Builder’s League United, which, as I found out later, was an unintentional Team Fortress 2 reference.) I also have not seen a single homophobic dwarf in my time. Heck, one of the members of my guild is an openly bi/pan dwarf, and he is an amazing character.

But I’m gonna just take everyone’s advice and start blocking the really, REALLY annoying racist folk, since they do seem to get their jollies from annoying folks like me who’re sensitive. Sure, I’ll probably be blocking a good chunk of Orgrimmar doing that, and thus end up even more alone than I already tend to be, but at least I won’t be fighting the urge to rant at the people in whispers now. (No, I’ve not done that, but the urge is VERY much there. Quell the dark thoughts.)

It’s canon.

Sylvanas did a Genocide because a Night Elf yelled at her, after all.

I will offer that if you ever want to rp with team blue, Thomas Bates has many Vulpera friends ICly and the Duskwood crew are always open to rp cross faction. Most of us have a stack of Elixir of Tongues always at the ready!

A lot of us are currently working on the remix however, but we’ll be back soon! As soon as I earn enough bronze for the heavenly onyx serpent…

What I do miss about RPing a Vulpera before I gave up was tossing down a duel flag toward any “IC” tuff guy who threatened me and just absolutely flooring them in front of everyone.

They should do what they do for every other race - 5 ugly faces to choose from and 1 decent one.

Not enough people resolve conflicts this way.

tbh i get more unnerved reactions to my vulpera than anything, but that’s b/c i leaned into death knight body horror. they have mange, making them more chupacabra than fox.

i try to walk the line between them being creepy and funny.

I follow the old ways, a tradition long forgotten, it was the culture of the server I come from that I keep alive.
