Vulpera Discussion Megathread (Part 1)

Vulpera on the other hand are master survivalists, they recognize things that are dangerous and only confront them if necessary. They would recognize that fel magic is a hazardous hobby and not take it up blindly
IDK, with the legion defeated this changes a lot about demons. They are also opportunists and traders. It could work. In the end I am not sold on the idea but I think it has merit.

The Vulpera are clever, but the difference between just being clever and being a survivalist is that a survivalist never assumes they are more clever than their enemy. When you are smart but still overestimate how smart you are, you die.

The perfect examples of this are goblins. Very much clever, but not humble in the slightest and and such very well known for getting killed.

A Vulpera would not match wits with any demon without being absolutely sure it's a match they will win.

Edit:
But I am of course just making speculation. I didn't mean to sound rude. They could still do Vulpera warlocks in the way you're describing if they give a bit of lore to it. Or they might just say Vulpera warlocks already exist.

I've enjoyed this discussion though. Thank you

Same :) In the end all we are both doing is speculating. We still know so very little and speculation conversation is fun. You didnt come off as rude at all just passionate which makes the conversation that much better!

Thanks. I just realized I was getting a bit matter of fact about things that aren't even confirmed yet so I wanted to dial back in case it was taken the wrong way

I'ma still quietly hope for Vulpera paladins somehow though

I mean, blizz can always pull something outa the old plot magic bag but admittedly it would feel weird.
Just going to toss in a little question to the whole Vulpera Warlock debate.
Would a Vulpera even know what a demon is?

Current day Vulpera, that is.
I'm sure their ancestors knew what they were, but I question whether or not any Vulpera within at least 10 generations has even encountered one.
Unless I missed a really obvious datamined conversation, or something.

We are going off the assumption that being as adaptable, resourceful and clever as they are they would catch on to things quickly once exposed to the horde

Although I assume they're keen to collect stories and any written information they come across, it would seem few things aside from trolls and sethrak have been in or out of Vol'dun in quite some time.

That said, the events of Legion pretty much encompassed the whole planet, I feel like spotting Sargeras in the sky would have been tough to miss

I agree that they are smart and clever enough, but I feel like Warlock is one of those classes that needs background, and without having a history of dealing with demons it may feel a little out of place.
I suppose it would also depend on what race the Vulpera end up interacting with the most.
We know that the Forsaken are going to teach them how to bomb their enemies with plague, but who would be dastardly enough to look at a Vulpera and say "Yeah, I'm going to teach these little guys how to summon murder-demons."

I mean it would take a pretty vain and thoughtless race to....do.....that....
I swear if the Goblins end up corrupting these little guys I'm never going to hear the end of it.

I suspect the Vulpera might learn a lot of bad habits from goblins, however if they observe goblins accidentally blowing themselves up a lot they will probably not be keen on their tendency to recklessness.
Vulpera mages seem to be a big MAYBE and, as such Warlocks is probably pushing it.

Pretty much. It's tough to speculate on a class list when we don't even have official confirmation on them being playable yet. *sad panda*

Datamining has been light on vulpera news lately because I think blizzard is trying to get everything they can ready for BFA's launch deadline. I know the noodle noggins have been disappointed with their even more lack of news.

Hopefully something shakes out soon though...

One day that /dance will turn up

And we will celebrate...
I want to see the forums when we find out for sure. I mean there's a 99% chance of us seeing them. It'll be parties for days. And some ragequit v posts too, muhahahaha...
They're midgets without the intimidating look of the worgen. Give them to the horde instead.

I've got the riot gear to hand out.

Basically with vulpera all but confirmed the point of my campaign now is simply to get people opposed to vulpera acclimated to seeing people who like them and wear out the protesters in advance. It's been a hard fought battle but antagonism has steadily declined, and for the most part the people excited for vulpera have not escalated any harsh words said which has kept the Mega thread a happy place.

There are still people who don't like vulpera, and that's perfectly fine. I actually like that the people opposed who still post do so with a lot less hostility than they used to. "I don't like them and I want to kill them" is actually great. I mean, if you're alliance, you'll probably be killing a lot of them. I hope they have fun doing it.

My ultimate goal is that when Vulpera are officially announced, people who don't like them will be too used to the idea to rage.

That currently appears to be the plan.
You got me until the end my panda friend. You're doing wonderful work!
Blizz might even have more work done on them, they just haven't loaded them into the games files yet. They could be avoiding adding things like the dances, flirts, and jokes (which would effectively confirm them as playable) for the dataminers to find before they're ready to make the official announcement themselves.

Or waiting to add them further along the line in BFA.
